The manual-operated retractable awning features 100% solution-dyed spun-polyester fabrics in several different color options for a long fade-resistant life, protecting you and your belongings from the sun's UV rays. With features like state-of-the-art bonded seams, virtually invisible hems, reduced fabric fraying, and leak protection, the polyester unit offers an ideal balance of strength, performance, and value. Thanks to the twin PVC-coated arm stainless steel cables and an internal double spring, the awning's arm tension system stays strong for years and years. The awning's frame consists of an aluminum torsion bar and a roller tube made from cold-rolled welded galvanized steel. The fabric patterns are the same color on both top and bottom, so regardless of how you look at the awning, the pattern or color is the same.

We have this on our patio witch can get a bit windy. It’s been a great addition to our patio for shade and great durability. I like that it’s easy to bring in and out. I prefer the manual way than the automatic way. Less mechanical malfunction. It was easy for my husband to install on the beam of the patio

We purchased the this 8 x 7 manual awning and it is exactly as advertised. The unit appears to be made of quality materials. The installation was quick and easy for my husband. He installed it himself, but he is a very skilled carpenter. The price was great for this product. You can adjust the tilt angle and easily take it down for storage by releasing only 2 bolts. It is a great buy!

I ordered an 8' x 7' retractable awning to cover our deck and hot tub. Delivery by Amazon Prime came in a few days as promised. The pros on this product are: (1) It came completely assembled; (2) all parts were of high quality; (3) instructions were easy to follow; (4) install time was just one hour; and (5) price was reasonable. I don't have anything negative to say about this product or company. BTW, this is a small company that is doing things right compared to the larger corporate companies where quality control can be challenging at times.

Delivered on time and very well packaged. Came with instructions. It was all pre-assembled. Just had to install brackets and install cover to the brackets. I installed 2 8 foot covers for a total of 16 feet. Two people needed to install the cover. I used the provided lag bolts to attach to the wood frame behind the stucco. I had a similar cover for a number of years and it held up great. The fabric ripped in a windstorm so I replaced it with these which look very similar. The steel is thick and I think they will last long time.

We purchased a similar product 3 years ago which finally gave up the ghost. The fabric failed, not the mechanism. This time we went with the Diensweek product on the assumption that a larger price comes with a higher quality product that will last longer. This awning is definitely of a higher quality; whether the fabric lasts longer only time will tell.I took a star off of installation ease because the brackets that hold the awning to the wall have only a very short space that they can fit on the bar, about 3 inches. That means if there is something that prevents mounting the bracket in that short space, you are out of luck as nothing can be adjusted.Another minor criticism is the length of the crank. Our awning is mounted just above the sliding glass door. That means that the working end of the crank is only a few feet from the slab. It is possible to raise the working end of the crank, but that means that the hook on the crank meets the loop on the awning at a high angle and the hook wants to slip out of the loop. I wish there were a way to shorten the crank.The fabric appears to be very substantial, but it will fail someday. At present, there does not appear to be any way to replace just the fabric with new. That means purchasing an entirely new awning. Also, I wish there was more variety in the colors available.

This is a very nice quality awning. I wanted something better than the cheap ones with the poles that support from the ground and I didn't want to spend 700-1000$ for an awning from the big RV stores. This is a fantastic alternative. I mounted it on the side of a 6x12 cargo trailer that is self contained with solar etc. for going off grid camping. I suggested to the manufacturer that the instructions may be a bit misleading as they state/show the install for a solid masonry wall. This awning can be mounted by bolting through a surface as long as there is a good solid backer plate or equivalent. I went through 1 inch diameter tubing for one bracket and for the other bracket since the width of the awning didn't land on the upright I drilled through the side of the trailer, through an inside cabinet and placed a 1x8 solid oak bridge from upright to upright through bolted and bolted the bracket in the middle of that bridge since that's where the other bracket needed to be. Every install will be different somewhat but just use a solid backer piece and you can install it on almost anything. Just use a little common sense or get a little help from a knowledgeable friend, it's not that hard really. As I said the quality is very good, it cranked out and in very easily. Good communication from seller as well.
