I got a plastic digital caliper a while ago and found it very useful, but very flimsy. This is solid and you can trust the measurements because there is no give or slippage. Easy to read. The case is handy and I like having it in a set with a ruler. And I use it to convert between metric and US sizes all the time.

I love having a set of calipers near my 3d printer to check clearances, size, and also for calibrating my printer for skew and dimensions. This kit was affordable, came with a battery for immediate use and a spare batter, plus a 20cm steel ruler which I am getting a lot of use out of. I recommend it.

This is not my first set of calipers, but it's one of my favorites. They're very simple to use, and the large display makes is so much easier to read precise measurements than little tick marks. I don't have to use them often, but when I do, they come in handy. What gauge strings did I put on my guitar? How wide is that nut so I grab the right sized wrench? The saying "when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail" should be "when you have digital calipers, everything looks like it needs to be measured".

The caliper itself seems very well made, it feels nice and solid, all the buttons on it work really well and are nice and responsive. It comes with two button batteries. The battery bay is small and the two screws holding the lid in place are super tiny. But once you have it in everything works well.It has a fine running wheel that works very well for making small adjustments and it has a locking screw pin to hold it in place of needed. The markings on the slide are easily readable and the screen is decently lit so you can read it but doesn't have the best viewing angles but not horrible either.The case is a bit cheap feeling but does the job of protecting it. I wouldn't put it through to much abuse though as I don't think it would hold against much. But it will keep the dust off of it and keep it safe from general scratches or getting banged around.Overall for a cheap little caliper I think it works pretty well. So far it's been fairly accurate definitely good enough for my needs.

These are my very first calipers and I am FAR from an expertI ordered these for household projects where its a pain mainly to measure small difference or circles. I believe it will work for this perfectlyBut as other reviewers have said:-Came covered in weird greasy substance. I thought it had been used but after a while I think it came from factory that way. A little weird and gross but didn't really come off on my hands or anything-It is heavy. Heavier and bigger than I expected. I thought maybe I just didn't know but other reviewers say this is not how more professional grade calipers are-It does NOT zero out. When I fully close calipers, it states NEGATIVE .04MM, etc. Again I'm no expert but seems odd-Test measuring a few items showed slight variance from what they should be. I'm not guaranteeing the calipers are slightly off or the item I measured but also a concern either way. It is very small variation (not enough to be massively concerning) but I do wonder about precisionI did have a problem inserting the batteries as other reviewers have said. The screws are SUPER small and the screwdriver they provided is not great. I mean these smalls are almost microscopic and you have to undo two of them and insert LR44 battery. I was able to do with the screwdriver included but if you have vision or hand issues, might be very difficult or impossible evenOverall, I will use this tool. I am confident that it has a small margin of error and will be useful for my entry level, home use. For more experienced or professional needs, I would not recommend. But for what I need, it will serve its purposes and I think the price is fair for the quality. I recommend

It zeroes reliably, measures accurately as best I can tell. I tested it using the object in the second photo having a diameter which I know it measured accurately. I did this several times and it always stayed very close to the actual value.It and the accompanying ruler make very nice additions to my shop, and you can't beat the price. The battery is easy to install with the small included phillips screwdriver and 2 of the batteries are provided for when you need to replace it later on. The caliper turns on as soon as you move it, so you don't even have to turn it on, and it turns itself of soon after it stops measuring so if you forget to turn it off when you put it back in the case, no problem.

I needed a caliper at home for minor maintenance and small projects but didnt want to spend too much. I got this product with low expectations. First off, if you have not used a higher quality caliper tool before then this one is a good entry level product. It does a decent job with needing a few minor adjustments. For example, when i Zero the unit then use it to measure, then return it back to zero, it doesnt zero out. This could be due to the high resolution (4 decimals) or lower quality internals. The one i use for work, has no issue going back to zero (A device that gets calibrated annually). This exterior is mostly made with some type of aluminum alloy. Even the housing for the electronics. This is nice, however it feels heavy. The other complaint i have is the screw driver included in the package to access the battery compartment. The screw head is just not small enough to fully grab onto the screw head. I found that it was easier to use a different screw driver. Last complaint i have is that the unit i received had oil smudges. it looks like somebody tried to clean it but just not fully.In any case, it does a decent job providing a better idea when measuring something. If you need something with a better accuracy and consistency, this may not fit your needs. This is more for at home use for a weekend DIY person.
