I have had my eye on this gadget for a while, but was hesitant to just go for it. My pool store doesn’t trust their own salt test most of the time and i don’t trust the reading on my salt system. I ran across it again when I was looking for a new thermometer (again). So, I decided to bite the bullet and get something that will test several parameters I need.It arrived in a decent box, nothing fancy, but well protected. The box contained pH packets for calibration. While there was no instruction on how to use the packets, the insert in the box stated that the instrument arrives calibrated. I assume calibration instructions could be found online somewhere, but I haven’t looked into it since there hasn’t been a need.Today, I tested my pool with it for the first time. Instructions for use were lacking, but it was not difficult to figure out. I used the mode button to switch the test parameters (which appeared in the screen) and inserted the end into a water sample. The reading appeared immediately. So simple! This makes testing the salt levels, pH, and temp of my pool at home quick and easy. No more having to use chemical test kits or lugging a water sample to the store across town! This is going to make caring for my pool this summer so much faster and easier!

Got the job done for me. I needed to know the TDS of my water before I chose a DI filter. I may use the PH and temperature function someday for my hot tub. Only complaint I have is it does not use standard AA or AAA batteries.

Historically I've used test strips to maintain my hot tub. This is a life changer. It is so much easier to manage just by placing this thermometer in and getting an instant read on my pH and salt levels. It is pretty accurate as well and I get instant results in gratification when doing hot tub maintenance. Recommended

This is a solidly built little unit. Turned right on out of the box the buttons feel like good quality.I've attached photos of the instructions. I really couldn't find good instructions to walk me through the way to proceed with the test. It's relatively self explanatory I suppose but I can't help but wonder.. maybe I wasn't doing something quite right.Tested this in my pool.. they gave me a reading of 7.8 on the pH and I tested with two different type of test strips that both read 7.2 PH. It gave a salt water reading, but I had no way to get a comparison on that so will follow up later after a professional pool water analysis. Unfortunately, this would've had me adding chemicals when they weren't needed, which is just not going to work. Will update this review if I do further testing and find anything was inaccurate here.
