The type of dinosaur is the Spinosaurus (spiny lizard) - the largest carnivore. found of the cretaceous age. Purchased this as a gift to my nephew who is obsessed with dinosaurs. Quality was better than I thought. Purchased 3 of these and each one was a different grade of quality. Would purchase again!

Mine arrived in a little velvet carrying bag (very nice touch). A cool genuine fossil, not a replica. My grandson was very excited with this gift.

Really difficult feedback re this tooth. Although like most recipients my response is more positive; however, I also concur with those who stated that they weren't sure this was actually from a Spinosaurus. OTOH - As someone who lives in a state where there is a beach that contains millions of shark teeth fossils, and that this WAS one huge dino-croc who probably shed teeth like my dog does fur, I can suspend disbelief. Plus I got a fossil that had a nice taper to it; that was actually for my husband, who was very pleased. And as one reviewer noted: it was pretty cool holding and touching something that had been in the mouth of "Monstoso" at least 100 MILLION years ago.
