Ideal for convertibles, or any application where zone-intrusion protection is desired. Violation of the outer field can provoke siren chirps (or a WarnAway message from an optional voice module) while intrusion into the inner zone will trigger the system’s siren.

I have a 15 Sierra that’s in the hood. Windows been broke twice. So I upgraded viper system with tilt, glass break, 2 dual shock sensors and the 508D proximity sensor. 508d is the key to complete an alarm system to me. But it’s useless if you don’t adjust it correctly. Mine is perfect try an look in my window it chirps. Windows open reach in it chirps depending on how far you reach in it goes full alarm. My issues was I placed it center line directly on top of my audio amp. So when I tilt the rear seat up it’s okay and fine. But when I let the seat down it unknowingly crushed my first 508d. Sucked but it was my fault. But I made the decision cause the wire it came with tan short. So I kept the old wiring from the 1st sensors and extended the wiring when the second sensor came in. So now it can slide forward where as to not be crushed by the seat up or down. My only real con about this item is it’s ugly. This item would be a 10/10 if it was somehow not ugly lol. But it is a must have. Took about 2hrs of adjusting and testing to get it perfectly set. But I’m a perfectionist so I enjoy the challenge. Will buy again if this breaks or if install another security system.

I should have listened to reviewer Jules75's warning. I was hoping the negative reviewers just got bad models but turns out they were right. I went to a mechanic who knows what they are doing to get my new viper 3105v alarm set up and had this installed as well. It worked initially at the shop when he was showing me the sensitivity but as soon as I got home it stated going off by itself as soon as I locked the car and walked inside. No animals, people, or cars were around my car and it would just go off every 30 seconds after I lock the car. This did not happen at the shop. This has been happening for hours now. I am taking it back to the shop tomorrow to yank this horrible sensor out of my car. DO NOT purchase this thing unless you want your battery to die in 3 days and your neighbors to hate you. Don't say no body warned you.

I have a soft-door HMMWV that I wanted to provide at least some security. Put this on the roof, pointed it the direction the instructions told me to (and connected to a Viper car alarm), and it worked perfectly out of the box. If I get close to the door, it gives me the warn away, and if I open the door the alarm goes off. Perfect.

It worked great for a viper alarm, yet since I have a tahoe I want to run the wire under the carpet and place the sensor under the back seats which would be the center of the vehichle. The cord is way too short for that. Until I extend it, I have the device under my center console and works great, but it barely works if someone is passing by the trunk area, sometimes it detects it and sometimes does not. Can get annoying though if there are stray cats around and walk underneath the vehichle. It will set the alarm off depending how the sensitivity is set.

For those who get false alarms like crazy with nobody near. When you get out of the car, give the sensor approx 7-10 seconds before arming! This allows the sensor to take average measurements to compare to when it is armed! If you arm it too fast, it's comparing measurements to when the door was open, and now that the door is closed, it will chirp randomly and frequently! After figuring this out, it is WAY more reliable!! Now the only false alarm I get is when I lock the car, then it starts raining. The rain will sit on the windows and trigger the ultrasonic sensor that the distances to objects has changed. There's no way around this other than dumping the sensitivity to where the sensor is useless.. the answer? Putting a toggle switch on the signal wire to the alarm so if you know it will rain that night, you can disable the sensor without unplugging it.Sensor is RAD.. helps like crazy when living. In the bay area, San Jose CA.. had cars stolen in the past.. now I've caught thieves trying to steal my 240sx! Pair this with a dash cam that records on motion and a 2 way alarm that can send you alerts... Awesome.

I have the Python 323 (also known as the Python 3203P) installed in a 91 mustang, and this sensor plugs right into the brain with no wire splicing (4 pin MUX port - zone 7) - cable included with sensor. Works like a charm. I installed mine on the ceiling in front of the dome light, and ran the wire through the headliner over to the drivers side frame. I placed the sensor up there because it seemed to get the best response. It warns when someone is near the front or rear of the vehicle as well as the sides. This was my first alarm install, and I'm impressed with this product. If you have an alarm system that has a 4 pin MUX port, this is a great sensor to easily add another layer of security without breaking the bank.Get it!

I put this detector on a Viper 350Plus alarm. It is very simple to plug in the connector plug. I did install the alarm myself and that was not real simple. The detector works great but is a little weak back at the rear doors on my full size Ford cargo van. The unit is mounted on the ceiling 1 foot behind the front dome light. It functions great from the side doors forward when the van is empty, when van has lots of cargo the sensitivity is less. I have it set to max level on warning and full alarm adjustments when in my driveway and turn detector off with three presses of the alarm button when setting alarm in parking lots. It will sense anyone approaching any door with a window in it. It does not detect through the sheet metal body.
