This robust weight belt has 65” long webbing -- lengthy enough for nearly every diver even when wearing extra-thick neoprene layers. The buckle is my concern, and why I deducted stars: I could barely insert my fingertips under the outer lip to release the belt. It was slightly difficult with an ungloved hand. Releasing it while gloved would be more challenging especially if under stress and/or in cold water with especially heavy gloves.My diver husband agreed with my concerns – he experienced even more difficulty than I did getting his fingertips under the buckle’s lip to effect release. He feels the buckle issue can be fixed by utilizing a vice to very, very carefully bend the outer buckle edge release area slightly out so gloved fingers can reach underneath. Of course, you don’t want to compromise the buckle’s integrity if you elect to try this, nor do you want the lip canted so far out that it catches and inadvertently releases. That would be equally disastrous.The teeth and buckle hold securely but there is only a single row of teeth, not double. Buckle side walls do not have a pin running through them to prevent splaying like other dive belts we’ve used. The webbing is stiff and closely woven (good!); it can be shortened.This is a serviceable weight belt, but I urge the user to practice beforehand to become aware of any potential pitfalls.

This belt is very similar in quality to the name brand diving weight belts that you can purchase from a local dive shop.The quality of the webbing is good. I was able to wear it with 24 pounds of weights and it shows no signs of stress or wear.The buckle is also good quality. Stainless steel to avoid rust and easy to open and close, even with dive gloves on which is critical.Bottom line: I would have no issues with recommending this belt to a buddy.

Don’t forget, if you like to put twists on each weight to leave some extra for that before trimming. Also trim at an angle for easier threading.
