Neck and body fitment are the best out of several kits ive built. I cant say much on hardware as I always upgrade. Attention to detail is nice, fret leveling was minimal but like with any kit rounding fret edges is a must. I just ordered a second kit

these things absolutely suck....I ordered 2 in hopes of getting a good one. Unfortunately the end of the truss rod in the neck was machined incorrectly on both and can't be adjusted. I've tried to return both but can't get my $191 back. First one was supposed to be a swap, second one should be a return. They have this messed up. DO NOT BUY THESE> Cheap Chinese JUNK!!!

Let me first state I was worried about this purchase because of the one bad review. Let's start with what I did like. The neck and body was well made and the binding was well done on this guitar. I liked having to solder the pickups and jack. I enjoyed the time spent doing that even though there was no wiring diagram I do a lot of soldering on guitars so it wasn't a problem for me. But it would present an issue for a beginner. I also liked how well the neck married up to the neck pocket. Made it for easy glue and clamp. Also who ever you had doing that neck and fret work. Wow! Almost all the frets were flat. And the neck was also super straight! I was almost sad I didn't have a lot of fret work. However the fret ends were sharp and I had to level and crown a couple of frets. But good job guys! Here are the things I didn't like. I did not like the tuning machines that came with it. The gears sounded horrible and were super hard to turn or was loose. I ended up replacing the tuning machines. So I replaced them with some guyger locking tuning machines with a 1.5 gear ratio. For a kit that was $214 with tax. I really expected better hardware guys. And I also replaced the pickups with some AlNico 5 humbuckers. But I like those type of pickups over the ceramics. And I was expecting 500k pots for the price I am paying for this kit. I expect to get those dime size pots for a kit under $100.00. I expect the bigger pots on the more expensive kit.Overall playability and quality. After just my minor upgrades this thing plays like a Epiphone LP. If some one want to buy this kit expect to do some upgrades. Trust me they will be worth it. I am still in love with this guitar though. I love how the tru oil and wax polish made this body and neck pop. I thought it a shame to cover it with a stain or color. It's beautiful and I have no intention of selling it now. Because I think I made this one for me. I will be buying another kit again in the future. I'm learning to be a luthier. I have been learning for the past year and have sold a few guitars in that year.

This may turn out to be a beautiful instrument, but it comes with absolutely NO directions if any kind. No app, no phone number, chat, no YouTube rec, nothing. You need to be very familiar with bass guitar construction and have a luthier on call to put it together. Anyone find instructions somewhere. I bought two to put together with my grandson for his birthday. Truly ridiculous.

One star off for ceramic pickups, plastic nut, and cheapo output jack, otherwise 5 stars on the wood - accurately machined well sanded and ready for finish. The tuner holes were about 1/64" oversize so had to glue in the bushings instead of press fitting (a thicker finish may also have solved this), but this is literally the only thing not perfect with the wood. Finished p-bass with tru-oil finish over zebra wood looks stunning. Added a switchcraft N11 jack, a brass nut, and a noname AlNiCo V pickup (wound to 8.8k) for one of the best p-basses I have ever played.
