I have a very active godson who is 8 years old and just sat and painted and was so proud when we hung it outside. Every time he comes over we watch to see the birds who have made this their home.

I really enjoyed painting and sealing in poly, however, do not hang outside. The first rain storm fell and the birdhouses fell apart.

Ok, so this is probably partially my fault, but I had the idea this could be used for a read birdhouse when complete. It cannot. There is no way to empty at the end of a season, it would be too deep, plus the bottom is not sealed. I am trying to see if it could be adapted in some way.If you are just looking for a craft for a kids party, this would be fine and might be cute, but at $15+ / person, it might be a bit costly.

For a bird lover of any age.I do wish there was more paint, as well as it being sanded down better to make sure you dont use alot of it.We ended up using a different paint to cover the rest of it the way our daughter wanted it to be. THe bird hole isnt that big, but for smaller visitors, it could be great.We did notice that the bees love to hang around it, not sure if its the paint, or the wood, or maybe im just thinking sideways here.I feel its a good craft for the kiddos, and it makes a good sight to see when birds hang out around it

Bought as a gift for my little 3 years old cousin. It looked really sturdy and came with paint. I was impressed with the quality of the wood and it was cute!
