I recognize that it's because they are great conductors for static electricity, but they come out of the package already completely coated in a fine layer of dust. Apart from feeling gross touching them, thinking of having to clean the full binder that I plan on getting just to protect my floss from the protector I plan to house them in is... annoying, to say the least. Such is life.I do like that they stagger the pockets so that the floss doesn't stack and add bulk when the sheet is folded.I know it was probably foolish, but I did expect these to come with some stretch bows :/

My mother had a TON of DMC floses for all the years she did crossstitch, just in a bag. I do wool applique and had a hard time looking through the bag to get the colour I wanted. So, now they are well organized in a binder. Easy to see, easy to arrange by colour and abouve all neat and organized. The DMC floss holders that come with are very easty to load your floss onto AND there is a spot where you can put the "colour number" on it easily as well.

Years ago I purchased plastic floss bobbins that held the DMC floss (two skeins per bobbin) and loved the ease. Sadly, they were discontinued and as I bought the new colors of DMC floss, I didn't have anywhere to store them. Then Along came DMC with their Stitch bows! They aren't quite as nice as my old ones, but each skein of floss is on it's one bobbin, which I do like. I am in the process of moving all my floss to the Stitch Bow system, which requires many, many bobbins and inserts. Luckily each insert holds 15 bobbins. Once I get them all switched over, I will be a happy camper.

Expensive for what they are. I thought I was getting 6 of these packs as stated in the title in brackets as a bulk buy. I can buy them cheaper here in the UK.

Given that there are no similar binder organization products for cross stitch thread, there is nothing to compare this product to. If, like me, you are organizing the entire DMC thread line, buying inserts becomes rather expensive. Furthermore, the inserts are not all identical, or of similar quality. Some were covered in a powder that needed to be cleaned off before I inserted the thread. Another came ripped, so that I had to tape or staple some sleeves closed.That being said, this is what I see as the most effective product on the market to organize a wide variety of DMC thread.

I really love this StitchBow system. I recently bought the bulk 447 DMC floss collection. The StitchBow Floss holders are SOOO much easier to deal with than winding bobbins. I bought the StitchBow Floss Holders in bulk and the Binder Inserts in bulk. Each insert holds 15 StitchBow Floss Holders, and the two inserts/pack holds 30. Pricey to get enough to do all of the DMC floss colors, but they are definitely worth it over winding bobbins. I did the bobbins years ago and was so frustrated winding all the bobbins and the time it took to do that. In my younger years, even though it was frustrating doing bobbins I did that because that was all that was available. Decades later and finally getting back into stitching, this StitchBow system is SOO much easier. I LOVE IT!!!!

I love this system. Floss is slipped on the holder along with the identifying tag and slipped into this binder insert by number. There is a small pocket on each binder that is not large enough for a floss holder but works perfectly to identify the floss numbers in the page. I then file the binder pages in large D ring binders and label the binders with the floss inside. All my floss is easy to find by going to the binder and pulling the floss I need.
