This DMCMT5C 5C Collet Stop is nicely made and has a good finish. It screwed into the back of my 5C collets perfectly with no resistance or alignment issues. I will get more of them so that I can leave them installed for particular jobs.

Product Reviewed: 5C Collet Stop for $5TL;DR; Exceptional value; basic stop; 17mm/22mm or 11/16 & 7/8 wrenches; modifications needed for shallow parts.I run a small hobby machine shop and thought this might be handy. I have a 5C draw collet setup in one lathe and an indexer for the mill for 5C work.This is a direct fit for my import collets without any issues. I suspect like many low cost tools one would want to go over this to deburr and polish a few parts. Still as is this was a direct fit in my collet without issues. I verified that the stop doesn’t interfere with the outside thread for draw collet setup but this cannot be used with the typical quick cam lock system I have as the stop extends back too far.The collet stop is not a full range stop that is if you are using something close to a disk shape or very short cylinder it won’t work without modification. That said I checked the stop rod and it does not appear to be hard so machining custom fittings for whatever you need would not be difficult. In addition I will probably modify the stop so that it is friction fit rather than a 2 wrench lock.I have to give this thing 5 stars. It’s an incredible value also through the miracle of mass manufacturing you couldn’t machine this thing by had for $5.How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review.
