Your cart is empty.Waste gates provide a means to control the boost pressure of the turbo charged engine. Waste gates work to bypass exhaust flow from the turbine wheel. Bypassing the exhaust flow reduces the power driving the turbine wheel to match the power required for a given boost level. Similar to the BOV, the Waste gates uses boost pressure and spring force to regulate the flow bypassing the turbine. Waste gates are bolted to exhaust manifold or header. The advantage of external Waste gates is that the bypassed flow can be reintroduced into the exhaust stream further downstream of the turbine. This tends to improve the turbine's performance.

Took them both apart, can't tell what spring is the 7lb and what one is the 13lb. Info on the ad says they have an 8lb spring making for conflicting information. No paperwork, or instructions. Put both wastegates on and immediately had a 20psi spike. Thankfully the holley killed timing. Took them both off and tested them for leaks in water, both diaphragms are leaking out the dome side. Have a race in 2 days and can't now thanks to these failed wastegates.

Has thread locker and grease on the important parts, i took it apart and added more grease but the three important bolts had threadlocker so i didnt need to add any

When you first get it, completely disassemble the wastegate, pull the shaft completely out, (deburr the sharp edges before sliding it through the main valve stem seal!) get some scotch Brite and completely polish the shaft until mirror finish, lube then reinstall. RTV the three screws that hold the diaphragm housing to the gate body, clean and lube the diaphragm and reinstall everything. Good to go.

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but here we go. I built a custom turbocharged BMW M30 motor using a Holset Hx351 from a 2nd gen dodge and I keep overboosting and chasing my tail using an internal waste gate setup. Finally dawned on me that ~400hp at 16psi was exceeding the exhaust flow the internal gate could handle. I bought this one since I can’t afford a Tial, and sealed it properly like other reviews showed. With the 8psi spring in and an EBC solenoid, my boost curve is FLAT. Unbelievable, between 3000 and 6500rpm it did it’s job perfectly, no more boost creep. Should have saved myself time, money, (and risking my head gasket) buy buying this a long time ago. It’s heavy, sturdy, and larger than you might think. But if you can seal it with some high temp orange gasket maker, it’ll probably work well for you too.

+Great wastegate, i did what the other reviewer suggested.1.) Cleaned wastegate2.) Sealed it with RTV to eilminate any leaksHowever, I left the springs in and they held 30psi on a holset HX35. They are literally set on kill.

Works perfectly. Used 7psi spring with MBC I bought separate. I like this Bc the top of the wastegate can also take the bled off pressure from the MBC to help keep it closed during low boost high engine manifold load conditions. Very smart.
