The first picture shows a Dana 80 nut that has started to back off. This is why you need to address this issue if you have a Dana 60, 70 or 80. The remainder of the pictures in order show the installation of the Stage 8 DNA-60 X Locking Spindle Nut Assembly on a Dana 80 rear axle. Once the hub and bearings are in place, install the thrust washer, special notched washer, grooved spindle nut, torque to manufactures specifications, set end play, locking retainer, snap ring, checking end play after everything is installed.I was very impressed with the quality and function of this system. It allows you to set the proper end play, which to my surprise was achieved at less than finger tight. I am accustomed to a little preload on the bearings, but my Dodge manual said to set the end play, no actual preload. Using this system you can set any endplay your manual dictates or set preload. Then the locking retainer has 8 different clockings to lock in what you set. Then the snap ring keeps it all in place until the next time you need to remove the hub and replace bearings or perform maintenance.I am very satisfied with this system and will be using it on future Dana axles.

Pay attention to the ID measurement of your GM14 bolt before you order these! I will end up using them on my Dodge Dana 60.

These do not fit the corporate 14 bolt as advertised. The washer and locking ring do fit inside the 14 bolt hub

These units are FANTASTIC. They are bulletproof in design for starters and simple to use. One of the nicest features of these units is the wheel bearing preload is virtually unlimited in adjustment. I try to run the adjusting nut (in the package it will be referred to as the grooved spindle nut) virtually "finger tight" with the special 4 prong socket so that I am able to achieve the minimum turning resistance possible yet have the bearing "seated" in its race. (NOTE: I have my wheel bearings out annually for service (approx. every 15,000 miles) and in addition to cleaning the bearings, generally in diesel fuel, I repack the bearings with synthetic grease and also work about 15 - 20 drops of synthetic gear oil in with the grease and have had fantastic longevity results doing so). After the nut is seated (thrust washer and notched washer are installed first ; I use synthetic gear oil on both upon installation) where I want it, it can be a little tedious to get the locking retainer to line up "exactly" with the notched washer and grooved spindle nut as there are 8 engagement positions for these two pieces. However, be patient and you will be pleasantly rewarded.I have these units exclusively on Ford F350 trucks (1995, 1996, and 1997) with the Dana 60 Monobeam front axle.

Using these on the rear of a full float Dana60 and they where a bit tricky to get perfect but now I know I dont have to worry about anything loosing up. Liked them so much bought a set for the front too.
