Super sturdy and nice firewood holder. Looks beautiful next to the fireplace with the chopped wood. Great quality. Better price. It's got my vote 😊

When I got the holder, I tough okay after reading the reviews on line, I decided to take a chance, It is made of solid steel, but the legs / screws should be better designed so they don't become to wobbly after a short period of time and having to tightening them up constantly. they should be a little more thickness to them as well. Otherwise, it's been holding up and I go through plenty of wood in the fireplace

While not the largest unit, it is well built and heavy. It's cast iron, and should last you a while.Just know what size you're getting at 18".

Years ago I took our other fireplace grate outside to use in a fire pit, and now there is no bringing it back inside. So when I saw this newly designed grate I ordered it. While it is not huge, it is a very substantial grate that I think will do a good job as a replacement. As soon as we get a large tree near the house fully trimmed, we will be ready to test it out.One reviewer went to the trouble to buy stainless steel screws to attach the four legs to the grate, and I shared that info with the person who assembled the grate for me. But he didn't feel it was necessary to change out the hardware that had come with the grate.

This grate is really perfect for my small fireplace. I built my first fire of the season and not only does it look good, it feels sturdy and protective of the fireplace floor. I can fit kindling and 2-3 logs on it if I really want to get the fire going.

I've had my fair share of fireplace grates over the years. So when my old grate finally rusted through, I figured I'd give this DOEWORKS 18-incher a shot.First thing I noticed – this thing is heavy. Solid cast iron, no doubt about it. Gives me confidence it'll hold up to a good-sized fire and won't warp like some of those flimsy grates I've had in the past. Got it set up in the fireplace no problem, and it fits like a glove. Now, here's where I'm a little less enthusiastic. The design is pretty basic. It gets the job done, but it isn't winning any beauty contests. I was hoping for something with a bit more character, maybe a bit more decorative, to match my rustic fireplace. Also, the bars are pretty close together. Good for smaller logs, but I like to throw some hefty chunks of wood on the fire, and those don't always fit so easily.Overall, it's a decent grate. Sturdy, functional, and does what it's supposed to do. If you're looking for something simple and reliable, this'll do the trick. But if you want something with a bit more style or need to accommodate larger logs, you might want to keep looking.

This product is cast iron and not steel, so over time the heat of the fireplace will disfigure and burn the surface of the grate. I am replacing an old grate that is so badly burned and bent from heat and age it isn't safe to use much longer.Although this grate is cast like my old one it is a lot stouter and beefier. I believe that it will last for a pretty long time. I do have one point of contention. The legs are connected with some fairly small machine screws that will probably fail relatively quickly. I will probably drill out the holes and put some thicker diameter heat treated steel screws in place of the factory ones. It's almost time to fire up the fireplace and I'm raring to enjoy a crackling fire side seat. Perhaps with some eggnog or warm brandy.
