I got this Dog grooming kit to use on my next dog. We recently lost our last rescue, and are waiting a bit before adopting our next dog, which I expect to be a doodle of some variety. All of the groomers in our area and other areas that I know of, have begun charging so much extra for grooming doodles. Our last doodle was standard size, and it got very expensive to groom him. We will be downsizing the next go around, so I plan on using this set. It's the same set my daughter-in-law has for her Maltipoo, and she loves it. I am not a commercial groomer so I think this set will do just fine for me. I love the 2 pairs of curved sheers, which will be very handy for getting that cute teddy bear look. I will have to see whether the thinning shears will be useful to me. I wish the comb had some sort of coating on it, to help with static, but I'll try it. Probably depends on the texture of my next dog's hair as to whether it will be suitable or not. The sheers are quite sharp, but I'm sure that over time they will need to be professionally sharpened again. I also like that they came in a protective, zippered case. Thus far, I am very happy with this set. I will update this review if my opinion changes over time.

Right off the bat, it must be said that high quality grooming shears cost hundreds of dollars, EACH! Not fair to compare this economy set to those. I have some high-end thinners and other shears. These are not those. But, this is okay as a starter set for occasional home use.What I like:**By far, my favorite feature of this set are the two curved shears. If you are trimming a dog that has curves -- such as s stylized terrier, doodle or poodle; the curved and reverse curved shears in this set will be very useful! I frequently have to flip my curved shears over to continue the curve of say, a back leg, from top to bottom. With the reverse curved scissor in this set I no longer have to flip mine over. Love this.**Comfortable in Small Hand: Be sure to hold the shears properly (screw facing up, thumb goes in bottom ring). These fit my well. I have fairly small hands so someone with large hands might find the finger and thumb holes to be a bit tight.**Shock/Noise Absorbers: Each pair of scissors has a shock absorbing stump near the handles that prevent the scissor handles from banging together. The result is smooth cutting and fairly quiet scissors (which dogs will appreciate).**Starts with Sharp Edge: The thinners and other shears in this set start out sharp. I haven't been using them long enough to comment on their overall durability or how long they will hold their edge. In general, the more you pay for a pair of shears, the longer they hold their edge. I might be having these sharpened soon, time will tell.**Grooming Shear Regulator Included: This set has a metal disc that you can use to tighten your shears when adjustment is necessary. Nice to have but, unless you are knowledgeable about shear adjustments, you can do more harm than good by overtightening.What Could Be Better:Comb Too Short" The comb included in this set is 7.4 inches long. That's really short for using on all but the smallest dogs. Most combs I use are 10-14 inches long. It's also not coated to decrease friction, reduce static, etc. Coated combs are so much better than uncoated. I won't be using this tiny comb.As long as you aren't purchasing this set with the intent of using it for commercial dog grooming, I think it okay for beginners, excluding the comb. I recommend the set for beginners, if you oil the scissors often, wipe clean after every use and keep the set in a dry place.

These are the most beautiful shears I’ve even seen. So elegant, on a gold and black color, half and half. Almost want to set a display area to store and be ready to use. Really an extremely fancy set.Now, enough about looks, the real question, do they work. The answer is YES!What was importante to me.1. What material they were made? They are all around metal shears. Seems to be extremely durable and will last a long time.2. How do they feel? Just right. Weight make you feel the shears on to better control but light enough lhe to use for a while if need to. Can easily maneuver around face, ears and other tricky areas.3. Options. You have everything you need in one set. The right contour, left as well, the fading shears and straight shears. Comes with beautiful golden comb and cleaning cloth. Really everything I was looking for on a set.I’ve tried a few sets already and hands down this one exceeded my expectations. Had a chance to test it out this weekend and what a beasutil job cutting it did. A must have shear set if you are looking to groom or trim your dog or cat.

I've always used whatever scissors was around to cut hair. I should mention I cut human hair and did not try these on dogs. I thought thicker scissors were better and these being thin might not have the strength. I was wrong. These scissors are made are made of some good steel, have enough thickness to have them keep their tightness when cutting, and have a slight bend on the inner part to reduce friction to only on the cutting edge of the scissors. Really good design on these scissors. They also look amazing. These are some beautiful looking scissors. So good looking I would not mind using these in a beauty shop for human hair. They come in a nice pouch to keep them all. They also all come initially with these plastic covers on them as seen in one of my pictures.Cutting: These scissors cut hair like butter. I tried it with large bunches of hair that I would have to cut and try re-cutting several times to get all the way through. With these scissors it cuts through the whole hair bunch in a single sharp clip. It's easy to see why too when looking at the scissors. The cutting edges are sharpened to that of a razor blade, but are thicker and stronger than a razor blade.Comb: The comb is super nice even for human hair. It has the course and the thinner part which is good enough to get human hair to look good fast.I didn't try these on human hair, but with as easy and quiet as they cut I could imagine cutting a dogs hair without them even knowing their hair was being cut. Super nice scissors.
