In all this is a really good hanging system. HOWEVER! I would not hang this on a 2x4, I would recommend no less then a 2x6 for the better load bearing that a 2x6 has. I also recommend drilling pilot holes for the screws. Otherwise, the bracket and all the other gear seems really strong and heavy duty and should carry the weight of a standard heavy bag. The swivel hook gives it nice response and functionality. It was easy to install and I feel a good value for the price.I can currently recommend this hanger set.

very heavy duty mount. you will need exposed beams or will need to do some drywall work in this is for an indoor install. I'm happy with the hardware, it works well, nice swivel to the unit.I hope you found this review helpful.

I’m hoping to convert our boys’ old Rainbow Play System jungle gym into a workout station for their heavy punching bag and ordered this for that purpose. I like the swivel feature and the bracket itself is heavyweight and appears to be sturdy. As we'll likely be using the existing heavy crossbeam to attach the bracket, being able to attach it to the side of the beam may help to make installation easier.

This punching bag hanger is pretty heavy duty! It holds my 100 pound bag with ease. It was very easy to hang and feels incredibly sturdy even during intense workouts. Installation was straightforward and all directions were included. For the price I think this hanger is definitely worth it.

If you have a need to provide a rock-solid lifting point iin a shop or space that has standard joists exposed or available, this unit will do the job. The L-plate that goes on the joist is 1/4" steel. It secures with 3 M8 bolts long enough to through-bolt through a standard 2x joist. There are also two 2" hex wood screws, M6, about #12, that go up into the edge of the joist. And is isn't it nice - the screw holes are offset so the screws don't collide in the wood! Yes, I've seen parts that do that. The hanging hardware is equally hefty and - a nice touch - the the upper U bolt fastens with a retaining split ring - easy to take the whole assembly off. The swivel spins a full 360 very smoothly. Just a really nice, solid piece of hardware.
