Not a ball bearing cam. Entry is a little rough, and a bit unsophisticated. But worse, the cam doesn't hold 4mm line at all securely. Most of us started sailing with Harken, Ronstan, and Schaefer. Of late, I've found Chinese ball bearing cam cleats that perform comparably for 1/3- to 1/4 the price. These do not rise to that level of sophistication. I'll keep them for light duty overhead storage, but are reordering a different cam cleant

They look great and do what they're supposed to do. The bolts were too short though. The plastic base cannot be removed as the base of the metal clear is beveled. No great. Purchased new bolts to use on 1/4" checker plate.

I used these cam cleats on my small 16 ft sailboat. They seem as good as other ones you would buy in the same price category. The grooves on the cams have good grip and the springs are really strong so hold the lines super snug and in place well. The only thing to consider is if you are going to use these on your boat instead of your kayak be prepared to buy longer bolts as the ones that come with the cleats are pretty short and are probably only meant for a thin plastic kayak. And maybe get some nylock nuts and fender & lock washes while you’re at it because these cleats do not come with them. Not much else I can say about them but they do the job of holding your lines in place.

On one of them the spring is already a bit sprung. On both the finish is very poorly applied meaning I will be seeing oxidation very soon, especially if I go out on the ocean.

These are ok. I'm using them to hold the ropes that operate my sugar shack vents. The springs that keep them closed are very aggressive. This may be too sharp and aggressive for my purposes, but this is better then the other way around for sure!

I bought a 2 pack of these cam cleats and I'm very disappointed on the product they seem very cheaply made and definitely don't look like they are gonna hold up to use which is unfortunate that I will have to have 2 holes in my kayak if I install these and switch to a better type.
