These appear to be made with a somewhat softer metal than ones made years ago. I purchased a couple of these kits, and I had to manually install the studs/anchors with a 1/4" ratchet and a socket because when I used the included driver bit, it would either strip the driver or the stud. I used the included drill bit which required me to insert and extract the drill bit several times until the hole would finally allow the stud in part or most of the way. Then, I would manually install the stud using a 1/4" drive ratchet and a socket that I purchased separately. I would have to screw the stud in, back the stud out, then screw it back in continuously until it went in or once again drill the hole out. And, even with my separately purchased socket I still managed to break a couple of studs (you can actually see the studs flexing/twisting). I have installed these type of hurricane shutter kits before (different brand purchased at big hardware store) and they were installed in a cinder-block home per manufacturer's instructions with no issues. I was able to install these but it took longer due to having to be careful not to damage or break the studs.
