I didn't realize when I ordered this that my original axle nut had a washer attached to it, where as this one is just the nut. The washer is not removable or I would have simply reused it. I went ahead and installed it anyways with my new wheel hubs. The fit and installation was still exact, no issues. Installed on 2013 GMC Terrain.

for my application, the factory spindle nut requires a 30 mm socket; this (Dorman 05177) is the recommended replacement for my application; 2010 chevy cobalt 2.2L (LAP). oddly enough, it requires a 36 mm socket to install. upon removing the old spindle nut, this part is clearly too large; needless to say, the amazon vehicle fitment guide is incorrect.

Not exact match to original equipment. Threads are the same as original nut but the hex size is larger. Don't know the actual metric socket size because I used a slightly oversized SAE socket that I had on hand. Anyone with a limited tool box is gonna have to by a new metric socket.

Always install a new lock nut on the axle shaft spindle. Clean all grease off axle threads. Don't reuse the old nut. Be sure to look up the torque spec. for that vehicle and torque the nut without any weight on the tire. On my 4wd this nut preloads the front wheel bearings. To tight or to loose the bearings will fail. Vehicle weight on bearings before torque can push the grease seals out and bearings will fail. While not all vehicles are the same, look up or consider these tips.

They fit, however, original nuts are 35mm, these are 36mm.The quality is horrible, threads basically fell apart on install. Why risk your life over 6 bucks.??
