Update: after 8 hours of run time the bearing is screaming. Bearing is cheap to replace but still annoying. Loss of a starSuper helpful for my restoration project. Old compressor wasnt needed, and this version of the SBC doesnt have an alternate belt path unless you move the alternator. So for me Im happy about it

Fitment was good. But the bearing on the pully is already making noise. Sounds like jingle bells under my hood. Going to have to buy a new one from the auto parts store. I thought being doorman it would be a quality part. But it didnt last long at all. I live 3 miles from my work so i dont drive much. MAYBE 500 miles on it in total. Not very happy.EDIT::: IF you buy this pully go to your local hardware store and get a thin brass washer to put behind the pully. Defect in casting. The bearing scrubbs on the housing causing it to squeal like hell. Took me DAYS and new pullys and belts ect before i figured it out. Get the brass washer, stick it behind the pully and it will work fine. I wound up getting a duralast pully with a better bearing anyway. But the washer will work and make it usable. Its not the pully thats actually bad. Its the bearing rubbing on the housing.

Fits great and works good but it covers up a bolt hole used for a bracket that holds the throttle cable

This bypass pulley kit has been reported in the past to have not included the correct bolts. I believe this part has been revised as mine came with everything needed to install in a 1998 K1500 Vortec 5.0L/5.7L application. This pulley comes with an optional spacer to move the pulley forward a few millimeters, which I used. This helps belt alignment in some trucks. The bolts used for the mounting bracket are steel and they thread into the cast aluminum A/C compressor bracket. I'd recommend use of anti-seize on these bolts to prevent the steel and aluminum for seizing together. Fitment was perfect for me.

I'm not a fan of the wheel being plastic, but it looks well built and it will likely last a while. I did have to cut a notch out of it, but I did my research before buying it and I was already expecting that. Anyone that is competent enough to know what this is and to self-install it should be competent enough to make any necessary adjustments.

5 stars for the product. 1 star for the shipping container used by amazon!! This arrived in a shipment of three items and by the time it got to my house it was out of its box and the bag of associated harware was lucky to still be there. No damage to the plastic pulley by luck alone! This A/C bypass pully fitup perfectly to my power steering/A/C compressor bracket on my 1997 vortec 5.7L 350. The pulley comes with a bag of mounting hardware: Two different size sets of (3) bolts (total of 6 bolts) that are 1.5" long. Hardware also includes bushing sleeves for use with the smaller size bolts to ensure a proper centered location once mounted. Bushing sleeves are not needed with the 5.7L application. There is also a pulley spacer ring that can be installed behind the pulley to assist in pulley location relative to the other pulleys on your engine.Overall a great product for a great price!
