Replaced my locked up ac compressor with this. 93 ford ranger 3.0 v6. Used supplied hardware, and with supplied pulley shim everything lined up pretty well. Would buy again.

Installed fine in my 89 5.0 F150. Had to shorten one bolt and put included spacer behind pulley. The pulley bearing is junk. There’s a lot of play in it making it somewhat wobbly until the belt is installed. Works so far but I’m not trusting this long term.

Several complaints:1. The hardware was not well suited for installation on my truck. The bolts that come with it require a washer to hold it on properly. Bad form.2. The kit comes with several sleeves that are supposed to help this unit line up well on the engine. The problem is that the holes in the casting are much larger than the sleeves so the sleeves are useless.3. Once I overcame #1 and #2 above the pulley worked great for about a week. Then the belt started squeaking. Doh!So, I pulled it off the truck and bought the belt for the non-AC truck. That worked great. Should have just done that from the start.... I just did not want to replace the belt that I had just put on there before the AC compressor did its thing.Come to think of it. I think the holes in the casting were too large. This would cause #1 and #2 above. Does not matter anymore. I have removed it.

I read some of the product reviews. My experience:I installed this pulley with the supplied, shorter sleeves, but noticed that the pulley was misaligned with the other pulleys. I noticed a lone, bright metal washer in the bunch. I removed the pulley wheel itself, and placed this washer (I now know that this is a spacer) on the spindle, and reinstalled the pulley wheel. Started her up. All well-except that same squeaking I tried to escape. Okay, I hit the tensioner and removed the belt-again. I removed the pulley wheel-again. I removed the bearing seals with sharp knife and greased the heck out of them balls-and anything else that moves. Reinstalled the pulley (with washers for the bolts) and replaced the belt. Started her up. Still squeaking. OK, I decided to ride this out and break in my grease job for 15-20 miles. This worked-no more squeaking or rattling.

I installed this part on my 2001 Ford Mustang V6. I had to install the included spacer to make sure the part aligned with the other pulleys. I wish the product was packaged with better bolts and at least some washers. Nevertheless, I found some spare washers and the part fit seamlessly. It'll do until I save up the money to fix my A/C system.

It works fine and that's all that matters. The other review on here said he could by pass. Sometimes this is true, however not always. I actually had the problem on another car. I don't know of you could on a mustang which is the car we bought this for. They also do not fit belts without the pulley so you have to try and try and try to get the right belt. It was actually nice not to have to go to auto parts store 3-5 times to get the right belt and then maybe the bypass not work right and test it on a 30-60 dollar belt. For me, it was way easier to buy this and the belt and not worry if it might not work with a smaller belt. We got the car back on the road quickly until we have the money for the new compressor.
