Used these on my 1981 Ford F 100. Previously purchased another set that was supposed to fit the truck, but the bushing were too think. Amazon and auto parts stores will tell these don't fit and 81-86, but they fit perfectly. When you install them, snug them up but don't tighten, then close the door and then tighten it up. The door closing will line up the striker bolt to the correct position.

The door strike worked except the plastic was too thick and couldn't open my door after installing. I had to put the plastic sleeve in a vise and sand it down a bit. Once I did that I set it back to original position I scribed it worked great

Dormans door striker bolts always go right on and work for a long time. Mark with marker or tape around the old one before removing. This will give you a guide for the new install. This tip saves a lot of time and frustration. The bolt does not center itself. Once in, your rattle is gone.

I installed these on my 78 Ford 250 pickup. The original sleeves had disintegrated. No problem in installation, but the sleeves were a about 1/16th to thick. I had to file them down where the latch hit. It took me 4 tries before I got it right. The drivers side worked well with no filing, but the passenger took some work. Other than that, they worked fine.

this 38421 bolt is an exact replica as far as i can tell of the original bolts on my 86 crown vic. and i have replaced 3 of them due to the bushes breaking up. the 'recommendation' though, at the top of the amazon web page, advises the 38421 bolt will NOT fit my car. recommended instead is the 38448 which seems to be the same bolt but there is also a steel flange attached which wasn't on my originals, so i don't know what's going on here. the bushing as is locks up when the bolt is seated so i used a rough sanding paper to take a little off and now the bushing rotates when installed.
