Repairing 66 Chevelle turn signal Dorman called for this part for non tilt wheel did not fit saw where other people had same issue ordered different brand worked fine

Tried this on my 66 nova. It is simply not an accurate reproduction of an OEM part. Does not work at all .Had to modify but signal cancel would still not work.

I bought this because I had two turn signal switches with broken lever actuators. The part fit perfectly in my GM original switch, almost. Problem was the hole in the actuator through which a mounting screw is supposed to pass for installation of the switch in the steering column was too small for the screw head. Didn't want to enlarge the hole in the actuator and possibly weaken the part. My solution was to file down the head of the screw to fit through the hole (put the screw in a drill to do the filing).
