This took me a bit to diagnose. Truck wouldn't switch from top vents to bottom vents to defrost. It started off as a slow transition and ultimately stopped altogether. The part works great and immediately everything started working after install. The install though.... such a pain (and that's not a product fault, just the vehicle) . Only 1 (top) of the 3 screws I could access with a 5.5mm bit on a screw driver extension. The other 2 I clamped the socket in a vice grip and turned it a quarter turn at a time until it was loose enough to turn by hand. Just a cramped space next to the gas pedal but doable as a person who prefers to DIY.

Selecting between defrost, blow forward or blow at the feet wasn’t working. Nissan quoted me $1,500, 9hrs to remove the entire dash to replace this item. I watched a few YouTube videos but my 2016 was even easier than the earlier models that were being worked on.Worked perfectly and I was able to install within 45 min!

This product arrived on time and fit as expected. Unfortunately after only 3 months in use it broke and no longer switches between vents. Not sure I would buy this brand again.

I have purchased many Dorman parts in the past and have always been happy with the quality. But this actuator got by quality control. After trying to get this to work for 2 hours I checked the electrical pin configuration. My original had 5 pins ( pin, pin pin pin, empty space, pin) The Dorman had 5 pins ( pin, pin pin, empty space, pin pin). You can open these up very easily. So I opened it up moved one pin over so it matched the pin configuration of the original and everything worked fine. I was not sure what to give this for a review rating because of this, but in the end it did work. But what should have been an 1/2 hour job turned into a 2 1/2 hour job with a lot of cursing.

This was a direct replacement for a 2015 Nissan Frontier. You'll need a 5.5 socket and some ingenuity and cuss words to get around another piece of equipment under the dash, above the gas pedal. Pay attention to the position of the gear on the old blend door and match the position on the new unit. You'll have to take it apart to do so.

This is the correct part for a 2015 Nissan Xterra.AutoValue and NAPA showed another (wrong) part which I returned (not even close to correct). Nissan said it would take 4-6 weeks as it was on backorder. Amazon shipped immediately. If only putting the part in was as easy . . . (got the job done but it was easiest to take the whole driver's seat out so I had "room" to comfortably work.So I am happy and have a functioning heating system--at -30 to -40C, most welcome to not have the air blowing in my face and up again on defrost when I need it!

I installed this part to replace a failed blend door actuator which controls cabin temperature inside a 2006 Nissan Titan. The electric motor inside this actuator was not calibrated to stop correctly when meeting the appropriate mechanical resistance. The part started stripping its internal gears within 24 hours after installation. It cost me $760 to have the dealership remove this part and install a part from the Nissan parts counter. Opening this actuator after it was removed revealed broken gear teeth and a sheared gear pin. Do not buy this part.
