The original engine oil cooler hose assembly on certain GM pickup trucks and SUVs is prone to premature failure when its inlet and outlet rubber hoses become brittle from heat and pressure, creating oil leaks or bursts that can cause catastrophic engine damage. This Dorman OE FIX cooler hose assembly features hoses constructed of more durable and flexible durable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tubing encased in braided stainless steel to ensure a more reliable and permanent repair. These upgraded hoses have been proven in performance tests to be four times stronger than the factory-style rubber lines and will stay flexible in temperatures as low as -50C. Engineered to precisely match the fit of the factory assembly on specified vehicles, this assembly also includes crimped fittings over carbon steel tubing for a secure connection to the rigid sections of the inlet and outlet lines. This part is compatible with the following vehicles. Before purchasing, enter your vehicle trim in the garage tool to confirm fitment. Not a direct fit. Bends and length are different than OEM.

The material of the lines is great but the flex part is to long and the solid part needs bent to get them to not kink. The ends that go into the rad needs bent to to line up. Idk who designed these but they clearly know nothing about fitment. A bit of a pain to install as the easiest way to get them in is drop the front diff down some. If they aren't gonna redesign these for better fit they sound be a third of the price for the extra headache they cause upon install. Installed on a 2005 chevy 1500hd 6.0, their website said exact fit for the truck.

These have excellent build quality and are very nicely done. If I could make these from scratch it's probably how I would want it to turn out, except I'd actually build them to fit. Those people saying the braided lines are too long are absolutely correct. Maybe these are built with a different truck-build orientation, but for an early 2000's 6.0 with the bigger Cadillac Escalade radiator, it's not going to work as built. I'm getting around this by cutting both the rigid tube and the braided lines shorter and reconnecting it with stainless -8 JIC/AN flared tube nuts & hose ends. If these were just plain old rubber lines I'd just send them back, but if I were to try to build these from scratch using the quality of materials Dorman used, I'd be in it for a lot more than $112. I'm looking at it like Dorman put a well built kit together, with some assembly (and disassembly) required.Note: I am in no way saying you should or should not do this, I am simply stating the solution that I came up with that works for me. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions, I disclaim ALL responsibility and liability related to such decisions and actions you make or take regarding this part.

I replaced my factory lines with these when I noticed my lines were weeping. Well not even a month later the lines failed catastrophically because the hard tube on the block isn't as long as the oem, which makes it possible for the soft hose to get caught in the power steering pump pulley. This happened to me when I happened to be on a mountain pass with the shoulder closed due to construction. By the time I was able to pull over my engine had seized. So now I've spent 2500 dollars to rebuild my engine that ran perfectly good before these lines. Learn from my screwup and don't cheap out on these, the GM part is 100% cheaper than an engine rebuild

Bolts that came with it stripped and had to use the original ones, fitting that go into radiator are longer than OEM and to not fit.

DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!.... I am a former GM service tech. I consider myself VERY mechanically inclined. Trying to install these lines over the factory GM ones was an absolute joke!! Not only did they not fit like the factory ones do, but the steel braided hoses make it near impossible to bend or manipulate into place. After fighting with them for an hour, I ended up kinking the metal braided line and now they're JUNK!!!! I really liked the idea of the metal braided hoses, but the reality was much different!! I ended up ordering GM lines and had no issue at all installing them. I would NEVER order these again!!!!!! What a complete and total waste of money!!!!!
