When replacing the leaking fuel tank on my vintage vehicle I figured it was a good idea to replace the sending unit while it was easy to access. This being a Dorman part I knew it would be a perfect fit and would also be very accurate. As a retired Mastertech I learned about Dorman many years ago. They are a company that many of us pros turn to when parts are needed that are no longer available from the dealer network. Their parts are generally an exact fit. This was, well sort of, an exact fit. It fit perfectly but there was a second tube for venting or fuel return that was not on my original. An easy fix. Just install a cap to seal it off. Be sure that you use something to cap it off with that is fuel resistant though. I just used a piece of new fuel hose and inserted a steel plug with clamps to keep it all in place.Once installed it was checked for accuracy and found to be dead on target. (I did ohm it out prior to installation but knew it would be right and it was) Installation was easy, just remove the old sender if you are using the original tank. Then place the included gasket/o ring in place and work the sender into place. Now just take the locking ring and force two of the three sides to start under the tabs. Then, with a driver of some sort placed on the third catch force it down and under the remaining tab. Now just tap the ring around until it stops at the end where there is a 90* bent tab. Be sure to drive it all the way in or it will eventually pop out of place causing a large fuel leak. Sound hard but it really isn't too bad. In this case it fit just as designed. THIS is where having a part that is exactly like the original comes in handy. Some aftermarket parts can cause all sorts of headaches. Not Dorman parts though.Comes with the fuel sending unit, a plastic bag with a new O-ring seal and the locking ring. I am happy with it and am now back on the road enjoying my 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Worked great and fit like original parts thanks you for the fast and safe delivery of this sending unit.Plus I didn’t have to wait in line at the truck and car shop for hours on end, or have to order it from an auto parts store for a much higher mark up
