This Dorman OE FIX replacement regulator incorporates cable tension springs to combat cable reel binding. This part is compatible with the following vehicles. After a previous part from another manfacturer failed, I decided to try the higher-priced, Dorman part. Well, i installed it June of 2023 and recently it started making a jamming sound while raising it. Today the noise really was bad and it only went up 3 inches so I had to pull it up with 2 hands. Why does the original part last, and these copies fail ?I have contacted Dorman for a warranty replacement, and I will revisit this review if they come through. But even if they do, that mean I'll probably have to replace the new one in 20 months. In July of '24 I installed the dorman front passenger side. It's working well, for now.

I had to purchase this since my passenger window went down, but didn’t want to go back up. Of course I had to drive to work in the freezing cold. So I purchased this unit to fix the issue. Biggest pain was getting the old one out since it was stuck in the down position and I had to cut the cables so I could get the window up to access the bolts. After that it was cake. Everything works great now. An added bonus is that they included new door clips. For an 18 year old car you’re bound to break a few and having new ones so the door panel is nice and snug is fantastic.

This is the real deal!! I had my mechanic replace a failing unit on my 2001 Buick Lesabre driver side door. The unit replaced was the original and 20 years old. I watched him install it and it fit exactly like the original. The cables were actually thicker than the original the only very slight knock was the housing for the motor was plastic while the original was metal. The first few cycles the motor was slower than the OEM motor, but after it loosened up, it is nearly as fast as my other windows. Overall, I liked the fit, the quality, and performance and highly recommend!

So far, so good. Installed in 2000 Buick Le Sabre. Had installed a different replacement 2 years ago, and it failed....(and this vehicle is rarely used...it didn’t last long)Hope this one lasts, and I have hope because this one is from a different manufacturer.

I've replaced several of these in other vehicles... and this one works great... usually the cables or plastic breaks before the motors... but I've also had motors give out too... some no-name replacement motors are not as fast as stock or ACDelco... they do not roll the window up as quickly as stock ones... this one is just as fast as stock. So... good for Dorman. A tip... yes check the part numbers and verify you are ordering the correct side (left or right) AND either front or rear... but to be sure I also remove the old one and compare the picture to the new one on Amazon. With Prime, I get the part in 2 days. In the meantime, I put a wood block inside the door to hold the glass window up for 2 days. That way I don't drive around with blue painters tape holding up a window which would be both unsightly and unsafe. Very easy deinstallation and installation of these regulators.* update 8/20 * well it lasted about 2 1/2 yrs... then slowly broke apart like they do... just replaced it w a no name brand... I've installed several on my personal vehicles and they all don't last as long as stock ones. Dorman, AC Delco, no name, all about the same. Sadly.

Being a LeSabre owner, I've had to replace all four window regulators before. The plastic piece that holds the window regulator cable in the OEM window regulators are junk. The plastic fatigues over time and finally snaps leaving the customer with an $800 fix if you go to the dealer. The two different after market window regulators were both superior to the OEM parts.I've become proficient at installing these. I was able to peel off the door panel, install this, and put the car back together in less than an hour. If this is your first, I'd budget two hours to fumble through. I'd use duct tape or plastic clamps to hold window in the up position as I take the old regulator out and put the new one in. Take your time with a long screw driver or pry bar to slowly pop out all the door clips and don't force it off. These clips can break easy. Once you have the new regulator in, actuate the motor up until it's about to cradle your glass. Release your glass and tighten the nuts that hold the glass. I believe someone posted an install guide on Youtube, but I can't remember. The only thing that could make it better is if Dorman included replacement door clips to insure the panel goes on like the car was new. I was careful not to break them so it was not a problem on this one. On the passenger side, I had to buy some from a body shop to complete my re-assembly. The product is sturdy, much sturdy than the cheap-o ones I got from Malaysia last time.

Three of the 4 power windows on my 2001 Buick LeSabre stopped working within about 3 months of each other. A quote from the local dealership was $300 to fix each window. That is far too much money to spend on a dated vehicle. After searching the web, I found replacement regulator's ran from $35 to $150. All the regulator pictures seemed to look alike. So why did I choose Dorman's regulator. If you research the company's products, you find a large selection of aftermarket products for older vehicles. They offer a warranty with their products and the reviews seemed to be positive. This regulator fell within the midrange in pricing. I paid more because of the warranty. If a company warrants their products, they stand behind them. The unit came as advertised; "all parts and accessories included". All nuts and bolts were included. Most of the installation time was spent removing the door panel and weather protection. The unit fit perfectly. No modification was necessary, the 3 bolts matched the manufacture's holes. The electronic plug was a perfect fit. Instructions were supplied which made the replacement easy and hassle free. The unit worked right away. When operating, the window goes up and down in a nice fluid motion. The motor sound is a little louder than the original equipment, but I find this a positive. Maybe this new unit will outlast the car. I highly recommend Dorman's replacement solutions for the do-it-yourselfer.
