This is the smaller bolt with 8mm hex head that DOES fit my 2006 Silverado 1500 WT with 10 bolt 8.6 differential ( 30 spline axles and drum brakes. 3.23 : 1 ratio non - posi )

This works with the ford 8.8 differential. The bolt head is 5/16 just like the original.

This was a perfect fit for my 71 Monte Carlo 10 bolt rear end. After realizing my rear brakes had gear oil all in them I had to do all new seals. Somewhere in the process I had left that bolt hanging out just a tad and spinning the driveshaft bent it (🙄).This was the only thing holding me back from the parade (Monday now) and between this time frame I only had 3 days to work on the car (parade is on Saturday)! First (same Monday night) went to Advance and said it would take 2 weeks to get there, so ran next door to ORilies and they couldn’t even get one (GM special order) or something crazy like that. Next day I went to the local junk yard, they said that’s a dealer part go to GM (Knowing there’s about a million cars out there that I could get one out of (they didn’t want the trouble). Went to Amazon, ordered right in the junk yard parking lot as a last resort. It’ll be there in 2 days on Thursday evening! Thursday night after work slapped that bolt in there and sealed everything up and let the rtv dry. Friday after work, down to the wire, I filled it up with the gear oil! Saturday morning at 8:15 I was on my way!It was a little shorter than the original but this is only holding the pin in place and looks like it slightly went all they way though the pin, so I was just thrilled to death!
