Ordered this for a 2002 Golf with a 2.0l 4 cylinder. The temp sensor housing itself fit fine however the O-ring included was the wrong size. This is easily resolved with a trip to the parts house to get the proper O-ring.

Part seems thick enough to withstand regular use, o-ring against block can be, as many have said, a real pain, and the temp sensor is incredibly loose unless you use a very good sealant, otherwise welcome to Coolant Explosion City. Overall, would buy again, just make sure to seal that sensor!

Se instalo y quedo perfecto, se ve y se siente de buen material. Esperemos no falle, aunque estas piezas no estan muy a la vista y es raro que se rompan

I've only had this installed for a week or so now so I can't say yet how the long term reliability is, but it looked pretty much like the original part and installed with no drama. I understand this a common failure point on 2.0 VW engines, which is not surprising since it's made of plastic. A metal part would be more durable, but whatever.I did not have any trouble with the O-ring placement when installing this. I just popped it into the groove, bolted it on, and away I went. I did clean up the engine head surface first using a brass brush in a Dremel tool.

Fit perfectly on my 2001 Jetta 2.0 AVG engine. Tough to gauge how tight to make the bolts. Definitely dont want to overtighten. Let it warm up and resnugged them and all is well

Coolant leak in my MKIV '05 Jetta. Found this piece to be the culprit. Installed very easily. The O-ring that comes with it seems like it's ever-so-slightly too big for the notch it sits in, but it held fine. The only other slight issue I found was that reseating my temperature sensor back onto the flange leaves it to slightly leak when I first reinstalled the parts. After an hour of reseating and trying different options, I was fed up and simply left it alone and took the car out for a drive to test my work and see if the old leak was fixed. Returning home I found the sensor was no longer leaking and as of this morning (worked on it last night), there are no more leaks. I don't know if the part needed to be heated up to create a proper seal or what. But I was nervous at first that the non-OEM part would have non-precise holes and that issues would arise. I'll update this if I find anything or my post-fix leak was an anomaly.

perfect fit. nice product.the only thing is no sensor clip with this kit. so if you brake your old one, you are going to need another one, from amazone or from dealer. i suggest you go to dealer first. it's under 1 buck from dealer.
