Tried a cheaper option first and got what I paid for. Returned that unit and got this. No issues.

This EGR valve failed to the point of leaking exhaust between the valve and valve body in 5 months. I noticed an exhaust leak under the hood, the truck stalled and failed to run shortly after I noticed it. I would never use this brand of EGR again.

Works well for my GMC, couldn't be happier. Easy to install and fixed my engine light

Similar experience to a few other reviews. Dorman usually makes decent stuff....don't think this EGR valve is one of those things. The thing broke apart internally, mimiced an exhaust manifold leak with the sound (valve noise) and exhaust smell/leak, and then ultimately failed- shutting down the truck from idle while it was on the road....not good. Whatever happened within the EGR valve prevented the truck from idling, but did not prevent it from running at higher RPM, much like the computer forgetting how to idle in the 99-'0whatever silverados. Buy something better, I think. It worked for about a year, but when it failed....it really failed.

After installation and clearing my code, have not had a reoccurrence and seems to be working flawlessly.

It blew out after not even 1 month of use. Not worth buying a cheap product !

I purchased one of these as a replacement, installed and torqued it to spec according to the service manual.Drove the vehicle and immediately noticed problems. Looked at the EGR valve and saw that the mounting flange had cracked (see photo).Amazon sent me a replacement one, so I installed that. About 2k miles later that one failed also. This time something internal to the valve broke and wedged the pintle open causing an engine misfire. This is very dangerous because the broken piece could have been sucked into the intake and into the engine, causing major damage.Overall I would never ever buy one of these.

I tried two valves. Both worked for two days then kicked the check engine light again. When actuated with scan tool it wouldn't open past half way.
