The cable works great, very easy install. I wanted this one because I wanted the white logo, there is only one way to install it, that’s when I noticed the logo was put on upside down from the factory. When I flip the truck over at least I’ll be able to see it the right way.

Installed onto a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 with a couple of slight modifications. Loosen the 3 bolts on the emergency brake and cover the new cable with a little dish soap (it'll slide easier). Remove the rubber grommet from the old piece and install onto the new one, this is much easier to slide through the space between the emergency brake and wall of the vehicle. Ream the hole on the handle so that it fits and install as normal. Great fit and functions beautifully! Not exactly as sturdy as the OEM part, but it's less half the cost! If you have common sense, patience, and know how to use a drill and socket set then this is the part for you! If you're lazy and would rather pay someone to do it then I probably wouldn't waste my time.

Only used the handle. I did not want to do much disassembly and the handle was the only thing damaged in my truck anyway. Looks difficult to snake the new cable up and through the firewall but the quality and functionally of the product itself is perfect!2001 Chevy Tahoe Lt. 5.3L 4WD

Instalation is going to need a tool such as a dremmel. This hood release works, and fits. The only thing is the hole for the screw is about 1/8th inch too small. so you will need to take aprox 5 (literally) seconds to make it a bit bigger. looks and fits like OEM. So, I gave it 5 start because it fits perfect, even though you need to make the hole a bit bigger, That is not enough for me to drop the rating.

This is not a exact fit replacement. The pre-drilled hole for the bolt, that holds the Handle to the kick panel is not the correct size, you need to make the hole bigger. Also the cable will not follow the same route as the stock one, unless you remove the complete parkbreak assembly. Although it will route around the break assembly and work fine. This information is pertaining to a 2001 chevy silverado. Once installed it works great.

I purchased this whole assembly only needing the handle. I looked around and couldn't find the handle only that would fit my Suburban. I got the part the next day thanks to Prime. I popped the old broken handle out and took the handle off the new kit with a pair of needle nose pliers. I attached the cable to the handle and went to attach the new handle. It would not fit over the stud so I drilled the hole out with a 5/16" drill bit and it went right on. I put on the nut and it pops the hood like it should.
