Do not remove the colored plastic/paper sticker/spacer from the end of the sensor. It is there to set proper tone-ring to sensor gap. The spacer will disintegrate gradually after the engine starts. Make sure you have a tone-ring tooth facing the sensor hole. Push the sensor in until it seats, lock it down and connect the electrical pigtail. You're done.

I wanted to buy because the cheap Chinese one (AUX) I recently installed causes the engine to die erratically, with "bad camshaft circuit" code. But, Amazon won't ship to my CA address. My guess is that Dorman didn't file the routine Prop 56 paperwork (stupid cancer warning). I trust Dorman products and will pay more for them, but now I question since they are apparently negligent. The Chinese products file the paperwork, so I'll have to try another.

This part solved my issue and was cheaper than any local store. The part has been in the car for a couple months with no issues.

Car dropped dead in driveway no spark. I replace the crank sensor first as it is "easier" to get to- with no success. After much reading and frustration replaced the cam position sensor. Minor pain in the ass to replace but no big deal. Van started and everything back to normal. It actually seems a bit more peppy with the new sensor.250,000 miles on van.

Works fine, but it proved the old one worked also.
