This is a known failure point on Mk4 VWs and I have had 2 failures on my personal cars around 150k miles in each. When my sister bought a Mk4, we proactively installed this Dorman oil cooler around 140k miles. Well this week, just over 5 years and 30k miles later it suddenly failed and dumped oil into the coolant 50 miles from home. Had no choice but to take it to a mechanic who charged big bucks to replace it. Usually Dorman stuff is a decent value for the money but sorry to say this one is not. I don’t expect 15 years like OEM but 30k miles is pretty sad.

It's been about 6 months since I purchased this part for my b6 A4. No leaks, holds pressure like a champ! Update 8/31/16: It's been more than a year and a half since I installed this part in my car and I have had no issues with it at all!!!! Great part at a great price!!!

Comes with seal, holds pressure, can't see any difference between this and high price name brand or OEM. Very good value.Fit's 1.8t.

Looked right, fit right, fixed the car. If you have oil in your antifreeze this is most likely the fix. Quality is great don't hesitate buy it now, over $100 cheaper then the dealer part.

I looked at all the options before settling on this Dorman Oil Cooler, including the OES supplier to VW Behr. When I was reviewing the Behr items and zoomed in on the packaging, guess what, its not made in Germany but the Behr had "Made in China" on it. I try to avoid China made goods and most of their metal is inferior and made from scrap metal. It may be that this unit was made in china. I would like to Amazon to include a manufacturers statement origin in everything they sell.As for the oil cooler, fit perfectly, was well made, and did include the O-ring a lot of people charge extra for. 3 flushes of the cooling system and no signs of oil in the coolant. Excellent. Saved about $600.00 based on dealer prices for installing this part.

The delivery was excellent and the part fit perfectly for my VW Passat 2000. Can not ask for better service or a better quality part. All gaskets, clamps and instructions were included.
