attached to the fuel door pretty easily and with the spring set, kept the door closed on the 09 S60 2.5t.But 2 of he push pins on the expanding keepers that attach the hinge to the car broke when trying to push them into place. was able to find work around parts, so all 4 are secured, but there is not a lot of room and the plastic is pretty thin, so you have to be extra careful

Poorly molded, cheap plastic part. As was noted my other reviewers, the push pins break easily off the hinge mount itself when try to tap them into position when installing the hinge bracket. The reason why the push pins break is that they and molded too securely to the plastic hinge bracket itself. Ideally, they are not attached to the bracket at all or very loosely. Then, you could simply push them into the small hole to lock the bracket it place.

All 4 tiny plastic pegs that are driven into the piece to make the fasteners expand snapped where they meet the hinge mount with a tiny amount of pounding directly in-line with their axis. I was also very nervous while snapping the door spring into this piece because it feels so flimsy.I ended up finding some tiny screws the same size as the pin and using those. Poor quality.

Perfect oem fit but the little tabs to push into the vehicle body are really brittle and break off easy. Be careful when hammering them.

This hinge is the same as the original, was hard to install because the plastic pins are not easy to punch them in. I hope it will last at least one year, this part is a poor design from Volvo, I think the weakest thing from a Volvo that is a Great vehicle.

Cheap plastic that will brake as soon as you open the gas door. Buy the Volvo original one instead.

I won't grade this product down because of Volvos incredibly flawed design of the gas tank door hinge. This is a direct replacement and it works. It's hard to install because of Volvos flawed design but read the other comments for installation tips. These tips were helpful. My only other tip from experience is that the little plastic tabs are easy to drop and lose. Maybe do the installation in a well lit area with some white paper or towels on the ground around your work area for when you inevitably drop one of the tiny plastic tabs. Also to note, I tried another brand first and it was horrible. It broke into 3 pieces trying to install it. Pay the extra few bucks and get this one. It will work but make sure you are careful and take your time, review others install tips etc. Good luck.

Successfully installed this on my 2008 Volvo XC90. There are videos on the internet of people doing the replacement. Hammered a drill bit into the spot where the four old plastic pins were to remove them (some people use a punch but I didn't have one). You can hear/feel when they've finished pushing all the way through, allowing the old part to be removed.Attach the fuel door to this part as a first step of install, but connect the spring tension as a very last step in the whole process. As expected, it was difficult to get the four plastic pins in. I recommend using some kind of flat bit or pin between the hammer and pins when putting the new part in. Just hit as straight on as you can and they'll go in. I recommend putting the top and bottom pins first to hold things in position. The middle two are harder to reach with a hammer and hit straight on. Good luck!

Quality product, don't expect less from a trusted brand like Dorman, bought an off-brand variant from eBay & it broke upon installation. No issues with this 1, worked like a charm; exactly what I needed.

This design by Dorman may actually match the original design of the fuel door hinge by Volvo. So, maybe Dorman is not to blame for this issue as much as Volvo is.The intent is that the hinge is mounted using 4 plastic expanders that work similarly to a dry wall anchor. Molded to the outside of the hinge, opposite the expanders, are 4 approximately 1/8" pins. It appears the theory is that you simply use a 1/8" punch and tap the pins through till they are flush, causing the expanders to expand. In my case, only 1 of the 4 pins properly disconnected from their molded position and went through the other side to cause expansion. The other 3 pins broke on the outside, leaving no hole or only a partial hole. In addition, on my own fault, I dropped one of the pins that broke and could not find it.In order to salvage the situation, here is what I did. I attempted to find an alternate source for the pins, something about 1/8". My first thought was that a toothpick might be about the right diameter. I pushed a toothpick through one of the holes but it really didn't seem like the expander expanded, plus, long term, I would have been concerned that the toothpick would rot. I then found some stiff wire I had laying around that was not 1/8 (ie .125"), but it was .10". I experimented and found that it did successfully expand the expander. So, I cut 4 pieces of wire at about 1/2" each. I had to drill out a couple of the holes. Then, upon mounting, I used just a little RTV on the back side of the hinge in hopes of providing just a little more support. Finally, after pushing the pins in about 1/2 way, I coated the very ends with just a small amount of JB Weld since I was concerned the pins might be looser than a snug press fit since I felt the diameter of my homemade pins were slightly smaller. Then, I pushed the pins in the rest of the way till they were flush. Of course, with this homemade solution, everything needed time to set, so you need to be prepared to allow the car just to set for a few hours, preferably a day.Given how you have to remove the hinge as shown by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQovVzO2_FA, I don't think my homemade modifications will keep the hinge from being removed if it breaks again, though I will likely have to pry more since I used RTV to bond the hinge as well.

Fits perfectly, but BEWARE... The little black pins will break easily, but DONT WORRY. If you purchase this product and during installation you break one or all of the black pins trying to beat them in, Just get an ink pin and pull the ink cartridge and slide it into the hole of the pin you broke. Use scissors to cut it to about 1/2 inch in length. then beat that it. set it and forget it.
