As others have mentioned the relay rate or flash rate is quite a bit quicker than an oem. For me it did fit a little bit tight (on the button end) and (loose on the clips) causing the button to stick on as well, a little rough pushing and it shut off/on. Overall it did function though and with a little work it works.

I have a 2004 MK4 Jetta that had blinkers that were no longer working. After checking some forums, most users pointed to replacing the hazards button as a fix. Ordered this, it arrived in just a few days, and took maybe 5 minutes to install. Just pop out the old hazard button with a few slim screwdrivers and and replace with this one. Immediately fixed my blinker issue.

Fixed the issue. One heads up, as you are attempting to press the switch into the clip coming from the dash ensure you are squeezing the sides.

I ordered two (2) Dorman 924-612 Hazard Switches in the end of December 2014 since the turn signals in my car started failing. When I then was replacing the original, it started working while I was wiggling it out, so I threw one of these into my glove compartment (so I could change it on the road if the original would break), and left the other one to my garage, and continued with the original. This week (August 2015) when I was at the cottage (200km away from home) the original broke so that it didn't work at all anymore, so I was glad that I had one spare part (Dorman 924-612 Hazard Switch) in the glove compartment... Too bad that when I installed it, it was not working properly, first I thought that I had myself ordered a wrong part... but when I drove over 200km back home from the cottage without working turn signals, and opened the second Dorman 924-612 Hazard Switch box, I noticed that the other part that I had in my glove compartment was a faulty part. There is 7 metal pins in the original VW part, and the part I had in the glove compartment had only 6 metal pins and one plastic pin (pin #3), and the part I had in my garage also has 7 metal pins, and it "works". So one of the two parts purchased was faulty (=50% of my order was faulty). As you can see in the attached photos, there's the original between the two Dorman 924-612 Hazard Switches, the Dorman's have the same codes in the boxes, and same codes in the parts, but one of them is invalid and missing one pin (pin #3).I can't really recommend this seller and this part at all, for two reasons:1. One of two items were faulty in a way quality control should have noticed it just by looking at it (and since return policy was only for 30 days, and I didn't need the part until now since the original started working while I was taking it out, I can't even return the piece of garbage now, I guess I should have opened the boxes and carefully looked at the parts before the return policy ended), it was really not that safe journey driving over 300km without working turn signals. People could have died because of the faulty part.2. The blinking frequency of the part that "works" is annoyingly fast, a lot faster than the original, makes you think you have a broken signal bulb somewhere since it's so fast.3. I needed to go purchase a real spare that is reliable and blinks slower than these faulty products.I can give the one part that works (fast) like 2/5, but since the other part did not work at all and was faulty Monday issue from the factory I can only give 1/5, and there's 1 too many.

Should have known better.... instantly felt inferior to the old switch I removed. As others noted, it causes turn signals to blink twice as quickly. As a bonus, it died within a week and a half of installation. Went online and purchased a genuine VW part - cost a bit more but works properly and has lasted. Don't waste your money like I did on this piece of cheaply made junk.

Sticks, so other wise when you push it in to turn the hazard switch on, it goeson but won't shut off until you pull the whole unit out of dash and pry the switch out of outer case. :(

Bought a used GTI which one of its main issues was no directional lights. I did some research and learned that these go bad. Bought this and replaced it within about 5 minutes.Install was super easy. I just removed the cup holder, stuck my hand in there and pushed out the old hazard switch. Now I have working directional lights!Good product and works. Well see if it holds up.

Flash frequency is much higher than normal cars. My old one is about 1 sec once, this one is about 1 sec twice. And the quality is not very well. Cheap plastic. But it shipped fast, and well protected. Overall, 4 stars.

Half the price than VW brand. Works great. Was very easy to instal. No need to bring it in to a dealer and spend lots of money.
