After my daily driver’s odometer quit working three years ago, I disassembled it and diagnosed the problem. I found by continuing to drive the car with the broken odometer, the resale value remained high. The only complaint that I have is that my car now has over 50k miles on it. For the last three years it has shown 49,980 miles on the odometer, this impacting its resale value.

installed in my '90 W150 dodge,Getting to the gears can be tricky, and you're likely to damage gauge needles if they are as old as mine.But the odometer gears fit fine and work great.

Both the item description and Amazon vehicle fitment guide says it fits a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria. It's unlikely, but possibly fits some of them, because mine required a Dorman 926-321 which is the one piece worm gear style. Had it all disassembled and had to wait for correct part. Returned for refund, but it was a real pain in the a$$. My trip meter and odometer are above and below instead of side by side which might possibly be the reason. Required removing the speedometer needle which is quite difficult to reinstall accurately so look to YouTube for instructions. BTW: Even the local auto parts stores show this 2 piece set fitting.

Tried another companies gears which were about half the cost of these made by Dorman. The other brand wouldn't work despite taking the speedometer apart multiple times and reinstalling. Put these Dorman brand gears in and they worked first time. $40. for two little plastic gears seems way overpriced but I couldn't find a cheaper alternative that worked.
