This cable was exactly what I needed to replace the OEM that popped the bead. It does take some effort to get the Parking Brake off but is the only way to fish in the new cable, pay really close attention when taking off the old one as there is a way to rout it wrong and have issues.Side note: lock in the rubber weather boot before fully seating the parking brake assembly, it'll be harder to lock in place when there's tension on the cable going through the floor board

Took one month to get this part to be installed and it is the wrong one for my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 long bed. Amazon said it was a "fit"! So much for Amazon.I also had previously bought a fuel module that was a "Fit" that was not even close. That one was under the wire so I could return it. This one is an education I guess I will eat and not trust Amazon or the vender for parts again. Since I was at the mercy of the only shop that is around to install.So one star as this is not for what was stated to repair e-brake.Live and learn!

I paid a mechanic to R&R this Amazon-verified to fit part.Not only did I waste the $17 on the part but also $52 in wasted labor.Amazon fitment guarantees are worthless.Apparently GM no longer makes this part which comes as a unit with the pedal assembly PN 25780187.I may be able to modify the entire cable arrangement or I'll be checking the wrecking yards!So much for trying to save time .
