I actually ordered 2 different metal hose elbows thinking they would be sturdier as they were metal. Problem is that the metal ones both leaked where as this Dorman did not!

This was the perfect size to bypass the broken heater core in my 1996 VW Jetta. This allows coolant to flow through the system so that the engine can continue to operate without overheating, and it buys me some time to wait and fix the heater core when the outside temperature is a little more comfortable.

These worked out great for a little custom work replacing parts that are no longer available for my car. They are strong and the barbs retain the hose very well.
