The rope is a little thinner than I like for a lead rope, but it is strong, a good length, and feels soft and comfortable in your hands. There are 2 major things that I do not like: 1) the snap is cheap hardware. If your horse pulls back with any kind of force the snap is toast, and your horse is loose. 2) the rope has a loop for a handle. A lead rope should NEVER, EVER have a loop as a handle. There is a significant chance that if someone puts their hand, arm, or any other body part through the loop and the horse takes off and body part gets caught in the loop, that person is either going with the horse or losing a piece of themselves. I cut the loop off and melted the end so it would not fray. Just downright unsafe for horses. Would make a nice dog leash though.

Feels good in the hand. A touch thinner than the common ones found in the feed stores… maybe. But it also feels more substantial than other ones that I have bought at feed stores. I got this one to replace one that dry rotted after the kids lost it in the paddock for a month in the summer (don’t ask, I’m still not sure how they lost a lead rope but not the halter.) I like it and am definitely willing to buy another when needed.
