I've been using a set of plastic rings for a while. They're useful, and I'm not throwing them out, but these wooden ones are tremendously more comfortable. The wood feels nicer in the hand, and the slightly larger diameter is more comfortable for me.The build quality is good. They feel very solid. There is a little wood filler, but better that than gaps. They sent a couple of sheets of sandpaper, but I haven't needed them.Because I already have rings, I didn't need new straps... the ones that I have are really good, actually. These were the only rings on Amazon that I could find that didn't come with straps.Overall 100% satisfied with the purchase.

Just what I wanted. Nice feel. The box included some sand paper, for those who wanted to smooth them even more. I couldn't find any rough spots to sand.

Great quality. Wood rings are very smooth and do not distort with user weight. User is between 150 and 175 lbs. They did come with a small fine grit sand paper just in case user found a rough patch.

The gymnastic rings were received in outstanding condition. The quality of these wooden rings (selected the universal standard ring size) is simply amazing! I sanded the rings a bit to stain them in wall-nut color and also gave them 1 coat of semi-gloss polyurethane. I have done this with all my professional ring sets for many years for superior grip and durability. I have also done gymnastics for over 36 years (I started when I was 5, and many of those years were spent at high-level competitions...). Now, these rings are not just basic as you can truly do everything on these without any problems at all! Do not be fooled by the price or by some ignorant comments here that attempt to point out that these rings are only "for basic use". That is flat-out incorrect! These are the third set of rings that I have purchased here, and they are made of very high quality regardless of the price! I have now used this particular set 18 times in long/professional training sessions. As always, these are extremely solid and still look new! I am as usual, very happy and I highly recommend this set of rings!!

So far so good, the rings seems like good quality and I have been using them in my workouts without any worries so far.Only complaint I have is that it's not the smoothest and could lead to small splinters when you first get them. Definitely be aware of this and sand it a little.

These are a great cost effective way to get into gymnastic rings training. Such a simple idea, you really can't go wrong with these. Out of the box they felt a little rough so I just gave them a few passes with sandpaper and it was all good. Get some inexpensive 1" x 15' cam buckle straps (I use NRS straps, they're cheap and strong) and you're good to go! I spent probably $40 for the straps and rings together. I got the 1.1" rings and couldn't be happier. Don't leave them outside.
