  • Standard 0.1" pitch hole pattern, and convenient electrical connections for quick and easy circuit board prototyping with many standard electronic components. Works great with Arduino and other electronic starter kits.
  • .040" Diameter fully plated through holes are used across the perf boards. This type of PCB board allows for high strength solder joints that electrically connect both sides of the circuit board.
  • 0.125" Mounting holes are located in each of the four corners of the prototyping board. These holes allow for easy mounting of the PCB within any project.
  • The ENIG surface finish on these prototyping boards provides excellent electrical performance and improved surface planarity.
  • These DIY PCB boards have solder mask on both sides of a high quality FR4 base making it easy to control the flow of solder while withstanding heat from soldering re-work.

Product Description

High-quality, ENIG, double sided PCB prototype board with a standard 0.1" pitch. These PCB boards are great for quickly prototyping electronic circuits or turning a breadboard project into something more permanent. The solder mask on both sides allow for easy control of solder flow to allow bridges to be created and removed quickly. The space between the power rails and the adjacent rows is 0.15". Each hole is electrically connected to a row of holes to make building circuits fast and easy. See the drawing below for a detailed view of the electrical connections on this board. These high quality boards can withstand the heat from re-work making them great for prototyping circuits. The premium ENIG surface finish on these boards offer excellent electrical characteristics. Projects can be assembled on these protoboards using a soldering iron and standard hand tools such as cutters and wire strippers. These boards are also a great way to practice soldering and improve your skills. Each package contains one circuit board with convenient 0.125" mounting holes making them easy to place into any project. Please see the dimensioned drawing for more details on hole size and spacing.

Mechanical Drawing

Mechanical drawing of ST-PROTO-1-2 electronic prototyping board
  • High quality FR4 can withstand high temperature soldering and re-work
  • Standard 0.1" pitch holes enable compatibility with a large variety of components
  • Rows are electrically connected for fast circuit creation
  • Four mounting holes allow for easy fixturing
Usage

This protoboard is designed to be used for prototyping electronic circuits. With pre-connected holes, circuits can be quickly made with fewer wires. Four mounting holes make it easy to mount this board into a project box or enclosure creating a robust prototype that will last.

Electrical Connections

This protoboard is broken up into rows of three electrically connected holes with a full length power rail on each side. The drawing shows details of the electrical connections. Each hole is a fully plated through hole to allow for stronger solder joints and a more durable prototype.

Protoboard Hole Dimensions

This SchmalzTech protoboard has a standard 0.1" hole spacing which is compatible with a wide variety of electronic components. The power rails are spaced 0.15" from the standard prototyping holes. The prototyping holes have a 40 mil diameter.

I ordered this to solder a DIP component on 0.2" centers, rather than the 0.3" centers of every other proto and breakout board. Saved having to solder leads on the individual component pins to mount on a proto board. Make sure you study the grey mask to see the connection layout (which is what I needed). The company has a website with many more options.

It's a durable and well-made board. It can stand up to multiple re-soldering attempts, as the traces are all hidden in the substrate material. If I do any more projects of this sort, I may have to use more of these!

I like the layout. Built several + 12.00VDC & + 5.000VDC Power Supplies with LM317P, - 12.00VDC & - 5.000VDC with LM 337P. Used with Mass Flow Controller for Steam Generator control. Built a circuit for Fault Alarm monitoring with light & sound for DAP equipment...

While slightly pricey, these are great high quality boards. I’m using them to mount pogo pins to access the SWD pads on my XIAO nrf52840 boards. Perfect for my use case. Worth the price.

This is a nice project board. Similar to those that Radio Shack had once upon a time. I do miss walking into RS and then walking out with allnthe components I needed! Now we're stuck with cheaper products from foreign countries that back in the day would not meet our requirements. This board is well made and worked perfectly for my project.
