We have a 2010 RV that doesn't have any USB outlets for charging or powering modern electronics like cell phones, speakers, tablets, etc. Like most RVs, the base power system is 12VDC, with the lighting, water pump, refrigerator, furnace and stereo all running off a couple of deep cycle batteries. I got this USB panel socket to install in the wall panel by the main hutch so we can charge our devices. The main features I like are that it has a built-in DC converter for the 12V RV power to 5V USB, the tiny size that fits anywhere and that it has both USB-C and USB-A ports. I only wish that it supported 36W PD rather than max 15W on the USB-C but that would require a much larger housing that might not fit in the narrow RV panel. If you need a very compact USB socket for your project, this one is a great option, 5/5

Product looks nice but upon installation today it did not work. I have also missed the return request time . So in turn this is a negative review.

Looking to install a dual use USB-A/USB-C port in a project? Simple little USB-A/USB-C case mount dual port. Simple to use. Power and ground on the back. Cut a matching hole in your chosen box, be sure to pay attention to the thickness of your plate material when choosing a box. The side "clips" prefer a thinner plate over a thick plate. Note: this connector is moulded around the hardware. It cannot be opened. Does not have data lines. Power only.Overall a very robust, and solidly moulded component. Works well.

Was a little small for the ones I was replacing in lamps but it doesn't look bad at all and was very easy to replace. Works perfectly!

This is a great way to add a USB power port to a project. So far no issues with it, added it to a 3d printed project and it works great.
