I first tried a Class AB TDA2050 module, which worked, but my project needs a 12V battery system. At 12V, the TDA2050 struggled with distortion past 75% volume, which might not be an issue at 24V, where Class AB could perform better. However, Class D is much more efficient, delivering clearer, louder sound at full volume. This module also has significantly less hum than the TDA2050 and includes a 3.5mm jack, which is perfect for my setup. The build quality is solid, with labeled inputs on the bottom and a power LED. It uses generic Chenxing(?) capacitors, and the volume knob clicks off, drawing no power in the off position. At idle, it pulls around 60mA. There’s a slight hiss, likely due to my setup, but overall, it’s an excellent, well-designed module—highly recommended!

Hooked up everything, checked and re-checked to make sure. Used a bench supply and known good source and speaker. Tried to increase supply voltage. Doesn't work. Makes a faint noise but doesn't output audio regardless of volume setting.

I buy these repeatedly because they are nice. I use laptop power supplies (about 18VDC) to power them. Sound great and very reliable I even have used them outdoors!

Pros: So far I've tested two of the four amplifiers purchased and good so far The included heatsink is really too small to be practical for maximum wattage. I'm using much larger heatsinks for my project. Project box is well ventilated too. My power supply is a 19.5Vdc 6.6A laptop module and the amplifier delivers up to 34 Watts rms per channel @ 8 ohms. Sub sonic frequencies good down to 10 Hz or less. Efficiency is good as expected for a class D amplifier. My project is for a simple, low power bass shaker system.Cons: Must have good electrical hobbyist skills. Provided heatsink is very small - maybe ok if only expecting 10 watts rms per channel (say with a 12Vdc power supply). No volume knob and mounting hardware included. Use this with 8 to 16 ohm loads as 4 ohm may overheat the amp.

I have used this amp board to make several battery powered amps that I use for guitars and harmonicas. I pair them with a PT2399 reverb board and they sound fantastic. One guy is owns a recording studio in town and used one of these amps to record with. He said it sounded as good or better than $1000 amps in his studio. The only criticism I have is that several of the amps have comp with parts broken, especially the large capacitors on the board. They stuff the amp into a plastic envelope that is definitely too small and it has damaged at least 3 modules that I have bought. Return and replacement was easy, however.
