They have the pin in the middle of the gripper so you can't use as down rigger release. Terrible.

These are very small clips, about an inch long, and not very strong either. For lightweight uses, they will get the job done. But for any serious offshore trolling, spend the extra money for the stronger products. The small “tooth” in the middle of the clamping pads gets in the way and most likely needs to be removed for adequate use.

These are sturdy, lightweight, and cheap, but they can't hold monofilament line. If you put your line too deep into the clip, behind the plastic "tooth" in the center of the pad, the line is trapped and won't release. You can remove this tooth to make these functional, but it's not worth the, hassle in my opinion.

These clips are very small compared to the other clips I have purchased. They are approximately 1 inch long.
