It works, even with an Elite 2 Xbox controller, barely. Connecting your phone to a controller like this actually works fairly well. I use MS Could Gaming, and it works great! I’m taking off a star, because this setup is tough to play for long periods. The weight of the phone and the controller held like this creates a lot of stress on your wrists. It’s even worse trying to play laying down.

Seems small to connect the controller too but it’s worth a try

I recently purchased the MagSafe Gaming Controller Stand for iPhone, and it has significantly elevated my gaming experience! The magnetic alignment is spot-on, making it effortless to dock my iPhone and start gaming. The stand itself is sturdy and well-designed, providing a comfortable and ergonomic angle for extended gaming sessions. The MagSafe compatibility ensures a secure hold, and the build quality is impressive. It's a sleek and practical addition to my gaming setup, keeping everything organized and easily accessible. If you're a mobile gamer with a MagSafe-enabled iPhone, this stand is a must-have.

Downsides: Not really a fan of the ergonomics. I bought this to play the division resurgence beta on my iPhone 15 pro max. Granted it’s a heavy phone but it makes the weight very awkward. I play on an elite controller. It makes it hard to hit the buttons y, x and b. It feels as if the weight is dead center. They need to add the ability to tilt the mount further back fully behind the controller to balance the weight a lot weight and to allow for better access. On the plus side the magnet is super strong. It’s a well built accessory. Just could’ve used some product testing by gamers before going to market. My wrists quickly become sore while using this and have to use a pillow. And then my thumbs become tired from playing using a new holding technique. Over all I would not recommend.

To start with: I like the idea of having one of these. Mobile games have gotten to a point where a fair few of them would be nice to play if only I didn't have to cover my screen with my fingers to do so, and a gamepad is always more comfortable to hold for long periods of time than a flat smartphone. That said, the clamp on this is specifically shaped for an Xbox controller. This won't work with anything shaped differently. The magnetic clamp, on the other hand, is only really magnetically powerful enough for phones that have been designed with that in mind. In an attempt to widen the compatibility of the clam, this comes with a stick-on magnetic attachment for the back of one's phone. Depending on what you do with your phone on a day-to-day basis, this may not be ideal.I might have preferred a specially-shaped clamp with adjustable elements, personally. But this serves well enough. Your gaming experience, however, will be determined by your phone's compatibility with Bluetooth gamepads, so test that out before you buy anything like this.

I’ve heard that the horizontal phone-controllers, like the Razr, have an awkward feel to them. I decided to stick with the controller i’m most comfortable with — the Elite Series 2. I was skeptical about this design at first, but after a few moments i was used to it. This is more of a vertical setup, with the Razr being horizontal. The phone site right above the controller, so you may have to adjust its’ position for optimal thumb movement. The controller-base magnet is strong, and it’s case-friendly, as you can see. This setup is charger-friendly as well. It would’ve been nice if one thing charged the other, eliminating the need for 2 different power cords, but this is a good *budget-friendly* phone-gaming controller. Xbox controller not included. Tell your kid it cost as much as a Razr, and he (or she) can use the controller of their choice, instead of being forced to adapt to the Razr’s busted layout. It’s a rare win-win-win scenario!MagSafe was rolled out on the iPhone 12, if your phone is *older than that,* you’ll need to source a MagSafe case. Also, the Xbox/Windows controller needs Bluetooth to pair to the phone, so we’re talking late-generation Xbox One controllers, et al tech, from 2016 and newer.

Fit the controller easy enough, and attaching the ring to the phone went easily enough as well. While it was fairly secure, I do have concerns about how easily the phone can get knocked off, so I would avoid being an "active" gamer. If you tend to move the controller "because it totally helps", you may want a tighter mount system.

This fit my Series X controller perfectly and the magnets had no issue holding my iPhone 14 Plus. Other than that, there's not a whole lot to say. If you have a Magsafe phone, or use some kind of steel insert or special case to add the functionality to your phone, this is a good option for mobile gaming.
