the finish is fantastic. lt's really neon. l shall update this review in a year or so as l want to know how long the paint would last and its impact on sound quality and/or until it no longer looks good

The sharpness of the neon windings make the strings visually stand out and the DR tone is shocking

I recently purchased a set of the DR neon multi colors for my spector bass....love them the colors pop...but the strings sound as good as they look....the highs are awesone and the lows cut through the mix.. ive been using rotosound round wounds for 20+ yrs. I still like them but i like the DRs as well and needed a new change...i just ordered another set of neon all reds for my solid black spector...that should look and sound awesome as well....and as for breaking strings?Ive been changing and restringing all my basses for years and have never had a issue with this...if you are repeativly breaking bass strings then maybe you need to let someone else do it for you cause wayyyyyy too much tension is the "only"way you are gonna pop any bass string in my experience and many many years of playing...just saying : )

DR is quality made strings. The other reviewer obviously wasn't tuning properly or wasn't using the proper gauge for their set up. I've used several of the neons without breakage with moderate to heavy play. The K3 High Def neon coated are far superior to a standard nickel, no more rusting with coated strings.

Bought this for my grandson and two strings broke while stringing and tuning.Amazon instantly replaced this item in an amazingly quick manner(my thanks),but the replacement did not make it either,with one string breaking on tuning attempt.My suggestion?Don't give up quality for the novelty
