Very useful little unit. It has a built in signal generator and can be used to monitor various signals and used to troubleshoot electronics. This comes with a probe cable and a cable for connecting the signal generator. It is fairly easy to use, but go to the manufacturers website for more information. I also found a video online the goes through the basic functions and operations. I found that to be very helpful, as well.

This FNIRSI DS0153 is pretty nifty little tool. It's incredibly compact, and packs a lot of feature for the price. I will say that the relatively cheap price does come with some notable limitations.In my mind this is perfect for engineers or technicians trying to troubleshoot specific issues in electrical systems. Need to check for a digital signal from a component that say's it's talking? This would be an incredibly convenient way to verify basic functionality without having to drag out larger (and much more expensive) testing equipment. The size of this thing makes it incredibly easy to chuck into a bag or a pocket to bring with you into the field.Now for anyone new to oscilloscopes that might be reading this: The low price is incredibly enticing, and makes this look like a low barrier-to-entry, but I would highly recommend against getting this as your ONLY scope. This scope is great for the price, but it is also far from being feature-rich and it will limit your ability to learn. Having a more intuitive interface will pay dividends in the long run as you play with different circuits. FNIRSI actually makes another scope the 1013D which I absolutely adore for these same reasons.
