At first, this worked great. But after 5 months and with very little use, not even once a month, the grip causes the GH5 to run the shutter in a rapid-fire way when I try to take a photo. The only way to stop the camera from doing this is to remove the battery from the grip.It doesn't matter what photo mode I'm in, the same thing happens after taking less than 10 shots.This doesn't seem to be an issue when shooting videos, but I would not recommend it at all if you're taking photos.

I have lost 2 very important clips due to the camera losing power even though there was plenty of battery. I would definitely not recommend this product if you shoot important client projects. May be able to get away with it as a hobbyist.

Cheap alternative to the $350 OEM grip, but don't expect it to be close in fit and finish. Over all good value for the money.

This would be perfect if the remote worked correctly with burst mode. With the camera set to burst mode once you press the shutter button on the remote, it will not stop shooting. You have to manually switch the GH5 from the burst mode to any other setting. Works as it should for single shots.As other reviewers have mentioned, this grip drains battery life far faster than other grips do on GH4 and GH3 cameras.

Initially the grip and remote was working well but leas than a month after, my gh5 would freeze whenever I tried using the remote and would have to turn off the camera

Great product for the price, DMW-BGGH5 Vertical Battery Grip and you get a simple remote control. The remote worked up to 15 feet away. For around $50.00 I don't expect the best buttons, material, but it works so far "two weeks of use".I use this on my Crane 2 Gimbal, the tripod mounting hole is nearly two inches off set to the lens, causing the gimbal to be very hard to balance.I would suggest instead of copying the original product, raise the base a little and keep the mounting screw under the lens, making it a better product than the original. I solved the problem with the ALZO Liberator Battery Door Clearance Plate.

One of the best purchases I've made for my GH5. With the grip on, I can film an interview through two batteries without ever having to stop and swap, which has been really useful. I've had no issues, it seems like a quality product, and it's been a great helper for me at a fraction of the price of the OEM grip.I haven't used the bluetooth remote at all. It seems cheap, but probably functions. I just needed the grip and it's done great.
