The first Dualit mixer I bought in 2021 conked out after a year. Because I liked the powerful motor and retractable cord I bought another Dualit. Silly me. It died this morning.I rarely use an electric mixer, maybe two or three times in a month for whipping cream or egg whites or creaming butter. This device's performance is beyond shameful.

Great mixer! I use it frequently, have had it for a couple of years now. It’s hard to find a brand that doesn’t have those flimsy wire beaters. These beaters are solid! And the motor had plenty of power. I’ll never buy another brand.

Smooth, quiet and seriously powerful. Mixes batter like it was nothing! Don't think twice, BUY THIS MIXER. You will thank me later!

This is the best hand or stand mixer I've ever owned! POWERFUL. As good as a KA stand mixer (which I gave away after getting this one) but MUCH more convenient. The only downside is that it is so powerful. There is not really a low speed, but I have a "not nearly as powerful hand mixer" (the reason I bought this one) that I can use for light mixing. Be aware that the BEATERS ARE SIDE SPECIFIC (one is a hexagon at the top, the other a circle). One of my best purchases!

I did a LOT of research before buying this about a year ago. I wanted something strong and powerful, with the sturdy, old-fashioned wide bars on the beaters (not those flimsy wire ones). I use mine most often to make cookie dough, and I use it at least twice a month for that (and sometimes as much as twice a week, for multiple batches). This has NO PROBLEM quickly creaming the butter/sugar, and even after adding the flour and chocolate chips it mixes just fine. It bucks a little, but not bad at all.If it were a boxer it would be in the Heavyweight class, not light or bantam. It packs a punch because it has a big motor. However, the way the handle connects you can hold it from the back instead of arching your wrist over the top, so the weight is easier to hold than my older, lighter mixer. If you're doing something thin, use a deep bowl because it WILL splatter everywhere, just because it's super powerful. It does whipped cream with the whisk attachment beeYOOtifully and quicker than you'd think possible if you've been using a cheapy crummy mixer. I've used it to make buttercream/cream cheese icing with superlative results. The only problem I've had is with doing egg whites, but then I discovered I shouldn't try to make pavlova when it's rainy because the eggs won't ever stiffen, so that's not the mixer's fault! It wipes clean easily, and I like that the storage is incorporated though it took a while to get used to.All in all I am VERY pleased with this mixer. I waited a long time to leave a review, since I am using it pretty hard and wanted to make sure it lasted long enough to be worth it. I make cookies a lot, partially because I love cookies (and hubby does too) but also because with a good hand mixer it's ridiculously easy and faster than running to the store to pick up something to take to a dinner or friend's house. This is a GREAT mixer-- but don't sue me if you end up using it so much you get type II diabetes. :-)

Update 11/24: I love this mixer & it is holding up great! I have used it almost weekly for three years to make quadruple batches of cookies.Original Review 12/202 I have a home-based baking business, and I often do double, triple or even quadruple batches of cookies. I wasn't sure a stand mixer would accommodate that volume, and I wasn't quite ready to shell out the $$ for a stand mixer anyway, so I went with this hand mixer. I figured with comments like, "It's almost TOO powerful" and "I wish it had a lower speed," it might meet my needs. I am not a person to take a mixer out for small jobs, anyway. This mixer has not disappointed! For larger volume projects, I am very pleased with its strength & capacity to mix stiff cookie dough. Highly recommend if that's what you're looking for!

Feels heavy duty. Not like the cheap ones at some retailers. Love the thick beaters too!

Working very smoothly. Little heavy for me but that’s ok. Little disappointed that it doesn’t have iconic plug as its box shows. I didn’t see that this plug is not included in north america version anywhere.

Works well but sounds like a chain saw and the loud clicking sound when pulling the cord out, wow so loud! It works OK, no better or worse that our old one, just makes a lot more noise.

Used this once now or a cake mix. Seems powerful. Thought it was a auto retract cord. Has to manually be wound back but still stays out 6" after winding wheel comes tight and stops. But still a great mixer it seems.

I don't have space on my counters for a stand mixer but make lots of breads and things that require whipping ( souffles meringues mousse etc.) so I am very happy with the Dualit 88520 and have recommended it to many friends. It comes with a whisk, a pair of dough hooks and a pair of standard beaters. It has a powerful motor for its small size and light weight and the wind in cord makes it easy to store. I have open shelving in a stainless kitchen so I also appreciate its good looks. The whisk is an amazing invention--fast and fluffy with egg whites and cream. The lo speed isn't lo enough for mixing dry ingredients and the dough hooks work better with fairly moist doughs but for the price and quality, it is hard to beat for someonne like me who has no room for a stand mixer.
