This was a gift for our daughter. It was easy to put together. The only downfall is emptying the water in the base for the winter months.

Bought this for my son's bday 5 weeks ago. Backboard came scratched up but I didn't mind much and put the hoop together and filled the base and was ready to go in about an hour. Backboard a little small, doesn't have the greatest feel when shooting. First heat wave of around 90 degrees the plastic base splits at a corner seam. Water drains out unnoticed, wind blows hoop over. Now I have a broken rim, a beat up backboard, and a split base incapable of retaining water. Don't waste your money on this inferior product. Buy something better.

The PROS:Honestly for the price point ($85), it's decent enough, does the job for casual driveway play, not dunking or really touching the pole or backboard with anything bigger than the ball. But it is full-height, and you can shoot hoops on it.The CONS:1. Arrived missing 3 bolts, 2 nuts, 5 washers. One missing bolt is 90mm, not a common length. Yes, I was able to get what I needed from the hardware store and the regular spares I keep in the shed, but that's not the point. Assembly was super-easy, but the design isn't super.2. Not AT ALL portable. Even with the reservoir empty, the wheels are two small, smooth, don't spin freely, and there really isn't a good angle to hold it at to allow rolling. It drags, scrapes, wheels barely roll. Add sand or water, and you can't even get the wheels to touch ground at any angle: the plastic of the reservoir deforms at the corner edge where the wheels are.3. Sturdy enough for its purpose, but not super. I would NEVER dunk on this. The whole thing wobbles and jingles and clinks with every rebound or if you check the pole with your shoulder while playing. The main pole is in 3 sections, held together at each seam by a pair of perpendicular 3" bolts about 1" apart vertically, fastened with ny-lock style nylon-lined locking nuts and flat washers only, no split-ring locking washers. The attachment to the backboard relies on keeping the backboard Y-frame in tension with the bolt. So the whole thing wobbles, even when torqued down with a torque wrench. A sturdier fastener combination is to use split-ring locking washers with regular bolts rather than nylon locking bolts. I'll probably do this myself with a little red lock-tite on the threads for good measure, then torque them down with an impact driver. Also there are much better ways to fasten 3 vertical pole sections to one another that don't wobble and actually require less steel fastener pieceparts than six 3" long 5/8" bolts and their nylock nuts.4. Don't expect to adjust the height easily with a rake handle. You have to remove two 3" bolts from the backboard, support the weight of the backboard & rim, lower or raise it so 4 holes line up on opposite sides of the main pole with the holes on the backboard Y-frame, fasten the backboard with the two 3" bolts each with 2 washers and nylon locking nuts. It's a two-man job with a ladder, or you have to tilt the whole thing down and do it on the ground without letting the counterweight bring the pole back up, so you need someone holding it down while you hold the weight of the backboard+rim and fasten it.OK, so this isn't something you should be doing often, so the trade-off is the price point.Overall, it's worth it if you're casual enough about playing. Don't expect to accurately practice rebounds in any way: lay-ups, bank shots, using the backboard. It wobbles with every touch. Don't expect to be able to play roughly and body check the pole. Don't expect to dunk or even hit the backboard or rim in any way with anything more than a ball. Don't expect to move this once it's weighted down. Don't expect to easily lower it for the kids or raise it for the grown-ups--it's a 25-minute 2-person job with tools and heavy lifting. For the price, it does the job of being a full-sized basketball goal you can shoot hoops with, if you have casual expectations and don't play too rough.

We had a wind storm and I had filled the base with water. I wasn’t aware that the base could be easily overcome by a strong gust. I eventually put a cement block on the base and it seems to be stable after that, but when it turned over, it landed on the rim and flattened out the rim. I had no idea that it would do this, but I need to replace the rim now other than that product is very good. Thanks very much! bye
