This is a great soffit vent register because when not in use, it spring closes to prevent air backflow into the interior room

Two things I didn't realize when I bought this vent. My situation - I have a 4 inch diameter exhaust hose in my soffit that needs a new vent cover. The Dundas Jafine 8-1/5 in. diameter Soffit Exhaust Vent can be used with a 4 inch, 5 inch, or 6 inch diameter hose. What I didn't realize is that in order to use the vent for a 4 in. diameter hose you need to cut a 6 inch diameter hole in the soffit and have at least 3 inches of depth to accommodate the vent. Didn't work for me with my soffit. Then I learned the seller isn't Amazon, it is GATZIES. And GATZIES is firm that they charge postage - $5.62 in my case - to return the vent. I contacted Amazon and after some frustrating messages and chats I learned Amazon doesn't regulate the return policy for what they call marketplace sales. So I had to pay GATZIES $5.62 to return the vent. I used to like Amazon. Now it's BUYER BEWARE - who is actually selling the product you purchase on the Amazon web site and what is their return policy.

I have two. One I bought a year ago that is great. One I bought more recently and it doesn seal up quite as well when off. Both work and I do recommend but maybe their quality is slipping?
